Sony Cybershot DSC-TX10
Producer of the Product:
With such features you would expect professional photographers only, but from using this myself I can clearly see that it is open for everybody and will turn ametuers into professionals.
Is the product for you?:
This camera may be bulleted with a heavy price tag but if you know you will taking photographs in conditions not suited to the average camera then this is the camera for you. It is capable of surviving extreme conditions whilst keeping its nice sleek, weightless design. If you a regular photographer and you know yourself you are more than likely to drop your camera on the floor or in water then this price may actually prove pretty cheap in the long run. This is a feature packed camera so if you have the money then this camera is most certainly recommended.
The product in one:
The camera is of a sleek, light; desirable design built with a 3 inch touch screen which compared with other touch screen cameras is highly responsive, easy to use and fills the rear of the camera itself. All the buttons on the camera are on the top left corner of the camera and these include the on/off switch, shutter release, zoom rocker and movie and playback. Another way of turning the camera on would be to slight the front of the camera up and down, the menus on the camera are exceptionally clear with no difficulty what so ever, and as an added bonus if there is anything on the camera you are unsure of then just press the "?" button and press on the option you want to know more about, it's as simple as that.
If you are looking for a continuous mode of shooting then this camera offers 2 different types. High - burst of up to 10 shots at max speed of 10 shots/sec and Low - burst of up to 10 shots at max speed of 2 shots/sec. I have also noticed that camera is literally ready to go within 2-3 seconds of turning on which I find pretty impressive.
Videos are great for capturing any moment exactly how they are, this camera produces videos at an amazing 1080i Full HD movie with the optical zoom available during recording and if you would like to watch the videos straight off the camera on to your HD Ready television then that is also available through a HDMI cable. You can even create a HD slideshow with music for display through your TV.
The TX10 has a stunning 16.2 megapixel sensor with a very disappointing 4x optical zoom lens, compared with other cameras on the market even reaching double that with 8x. The camera is in actual fact shockproof to 1.5m, waterproof to 5m, freeze proof to 10c and dustproof. Now when you imagine a camera like this you expect a big heavy bulky rucksack camera, which is absolutely terrible for mobility and usage in every day scenes but this camera does have a look the part stylish design which I touched upon just above.
Now every photographer enjoys taking professional photos, but this camera has the ability to make everybody professionals and create a unique photographic experience for everybody. For those of you out there who enjoy shooting panoramic images this camera comes packed with Intelligent Sweep Panorama, 3D Sweep Panorama and Sweep Panorama High Resolution, the latter one creating a 42.9 megapixel image. Some of my favourites are the Sweep Multi Angle, 3D image shooting, Background defocus, tracking focus, High-speed continuous shooting and Superior Auto Mode.
How does it compare to other Products?:
Compared to products on the same level as this camera is does exceptionally well for durability, with its water proof, shock proof, dust proof, freeze proof, but it falls behind in price as cameras with similar camera like features you can get for a whopping £100 less.
Does the Product Achieve its Purpose?:
The purpose of the product in my eyes is to allow any body, regardless of using a camera before, to pick it up and quickly adapt and start taking professional photographs, so to me yes this definitely achieves its purpose.

Value for Money:
The market for cameras that are waterproof, shockproof and freeze proof is competitive, but the Sony Cybershot DMC-TX10 appears more like a premium digital compact camera which also benefits from these attributes. Cameras with a 16 megapixel sensor and 4x optical zoom are mostly cheaper than the TX-10, so if you're not particularly bothered about purchasing a "tough" camera, there is likely to be better value for money to be found elsewhere.
· Very stylish
· Sweep Panoramas
· Fast continuous shooting at full resolution
· Full HD videos
· Good noise performance
· Excellent white-balance
· Superb image quality
· Waterproof, freeze proof and shockproof
· Quite an expensive "tough" camera
· Only 4x optical zoom
How to Improve:
The only way I could recommend improving this camera would be to increase the optical zoom, 4x is just not enough for a camera in this price range and compared to other cameras in this category and price range the zoom does not cut standards, at least 8x would be good but no no to 4x. Another way would be to decrease the price to a camera that is similar, for an extra £20 you can have a true photographers camera.. If this was done then this should be the camera for everybody.
