Advantages: 8.1MP, Carl Zeiss® 3X Optical Zoom Lens, 3" Touch Screen, Face Detection & 'Touch-it' Autofocus

Disadvantages: None

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70/B digital camera is a powerful little thing. I got this as my old digital camera broke down. I wanted something reliable, cheap, compact and powerful. I think this camera ticked all the right boxes.

The Sony digital camera comes in four different colours, black, white, pink and silver. The letter at the end of the model number basically represents what colour it is, 'B' is black. 'W' is white, 'P' is pink and 'S' is silver. The design of the camera is extremely compact for the about of technology it has and has a nice aluminium finish. It looks sleek and can easily slip into your pocket or handbag. The camera has a nice 3 inch touch, widescreen LCD display which replaces the function buttons with very simple on screen icons.

The Sony DSC-T70 has many functions; to start with it is a whopping 8.1 mega pixel camera and uses Carl Zeiss® 3X Optical Zoom Lens Design. The lens uses Sony's super HAD CCD which simply means it allows more light to pass through each pixel resulting in increased sensitivity and clearer photos. I personally like the face detection technology this camera has. The camera can recognise up to 8 faces in a single frame and automatically focus, adjust exposure, colour and light to take the perfect group photo. The camera also has HD output which means you can plug this camera directly into Sony's compatible TV's. As with all digital cameras you are provided with the drivers and software to be used with your PC. The software you get is Sony Picture Motion Browser which is very simple to use and gets the job done.

The camera has many other features; below I've listed an overview of the camera and its features:

- 8.1 effective megapixels with BIONZ image processor
- 3x Optical Zoom lens
- Smile Shutter
- 31MB internal memory
- Supports Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo
- Face Detection and 'Touch-it' autofocus
- 3-inch 16:9 wide LCD touchscreen
- 'Photo TV HD' Full HD image display on new BRAVIA TVs
- Double Anti-Blur with Super SteadyShot and ISO 3200 High Sensitivity
- Built in flash, red-reduction & microphone
- Dimensions are 9 cm x 2.1 cm x 5.7 cm
- Connections are 1x USB, 1x composite video/audio output (cables provided)
- Accessories included are stylus, wrist strap & docking station

Overall I think the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T70/B digital camera is a very good buy and I have not had any problems with it so far. It works very well and the touch screen makes it very easy to get around so no fiddling around with function buttons. The photos that this camera produces are amazing, crisp and clear I highly recommend it. I purchased the camera from the internet for £150, cant remember what the website was but you can get it from Amazon and any other leading electrical store for around the same price.

I'm in the market for a new digital camera, and it sounds like this could be the one for me.

Thanks, and top review!
