Basic Ideas
Digital camera maker have more competition in non-SLR camera, and less profit.
Companies are in the market due to Digital SLR, otherwise there is no adequate profit with compact cameras.
But the compact camera market is very popular and almost every camera maker company lunching averages 5-10 cameras every year.
Some of the companies like Nikon giving more priority to Digital SLR cameras, but Canon and Sony having equal target on both markets in Digital SLR as well as Non-DSLR.

As considering compact camera market Sony has launched a series of pockatable compact cameras giving it 'T' series model.
And as they become most popular compact camera and strong competitor with canon's most appreciated Ixus series.
In the line of its 'T' series Sony have launched T200 and T70 model camera sometime one year ago.
Here I will take a look on T70, compact camera and with compare to other cameras as well.
The camera have good feature as well as better handling and now after a years later it gives good value of money as well.
I will discuss here some good feature of this compact camera as well as some disadvantages also.

Some good features..
The first thing I would like to mention that this camera has a slide cover, and it gives a extra fun in life....no power consume to open cover.

Image Sensor
T70 have effective 8.1 MegaPixel sensor, and it is more enough for photography.
Higher sensor will consume more memory (if we provide setting for higher pixel) and I don't think that generally we need higher pixel photographs.
But more of less, 5 megapixel setting is just enough ao that it is not a matter of higher MegaPixel camera will be better, but 8 Mega pixel is just adequate and you will never feel less.

Maximum resolution for captured picture will be 3264x2448, just think about this resolution, what u say?
I think for travel camera it is more than what we require; higher resolution will require more memory and storage media.

Zoom
Camera has 3 x optical zoom and 6 x digital zoom as well.
Just consider the design of camera, it doesn't have lens like many other camera have, built technique of lens is something like it will never go out of camera, such other camera have like this.
When we switch on the camera it will never throw out the lens, means mechanical system has some latest technology that can provide less covered are by lens and provide optical zoom also.
Camera have 6x digital zoom also, with combination of optical zoom it will provide total of 18x zoom.

And here is good news that this camera also provides optical zoom during movie mode, it is the best feature that this camera has.

Exposure
Camera has inbuilt exposure control for different situation like...
Auto, Program Auto, Scene Selection 10 Modes (Twilight / Twilight Portrait / Soft Snap / Landscape / Beach / Snow / Fireworks / High Speed Shutter / High Sensitivity / Smile Shutter)
Having good auto mode, so that u needs not to worry about your setting for appropriate shot.
You need to only keep your auto setting according to your shooting situation, than camera will automatically adjust exposure.

Shutter Speed
This camera have full range of shutter speed like, in Auto (1/4 - 1/1000) / Program Auto (1" - 1/1000).

Flash
The in built flash have a good range of coverage and it will provide the capturing limit like
When ISO Auto: 0.1 - 3.0m (Wide) / 0.25 - 2.5m (Tele), and ISO3200: up to 6.0m (W) / 5.0m (T)


ISO Sensitivity Setting
The very important feature that should be considered is the ISO setting of the camera, and how much noise creating in higher ISO setting...
Camera have adequate range of ISO setting like (Auto / 80 / 100 / 200 / 400 / 800 / 1600 / 3200) .
But when we consider noise problem in camera than ISO will become fake...
Because this camera as up to ISO 200, it will provide average picture quality but above this the quality will become very noisy and at maximum ISO, the quality will be worst.
So that noise is a main problem in digital camera and camera maker companies are trying to solve this problem but yet we should accept some noise in our photographs also till we get some advanced technology for it.

As I told earlier that camera have problem with higher ISO setting and it provides more noise above ISO200.
Other thing is that camera does not have optical view finder..

Conclusion
As we consider this camera for travel purpose than is is easily pockatable camera and you need not to worry about the size of camera.
It is like a mobile phone and very light weight and slim body.
If we neglect some about higher ISO setting than it is good travel camera.
