I bought this camera just over three years ago, and to be honest it has served me well, I bought it because at the time I was looking for a decent compact camera, which came from a reputable brand such as Sony. When I bought it I knew very little about the pros and cons of cameras and the technologies that certain cameras could offer - hence why when I saw this Sony camera I focused my purchase on the brand and what it looked like, arguably, not the best idea.
The appearance: The camera looks smart and professional, with a simplistic and compact design it is perfect for taking it places such as holidays, or on outings. My favourite aspect about the appearance is the fact every detail has been looked at by Sony and in my opinion has been made to a brilliant standard.
The photo quality: The photos that this camera takes used to be brilliant compared to the market competitors however now against 12 megapixel compact cameras and even a 12 megapixel phone (Nokia N8 - which has had mixed reviews) they are average. Though the photos are only 8 megapixel when they are uploaded due to good colour and light stability they appear better than one might expect.
Pros: The photo quality when uploaded is good and the colour and light intensities are well balanced. The appearance is brilliant.
Cons: At the time the price was rather excessive (I bought for mine for just shy of £200) which I believe is due to two factors firstly the fact Sony products are hardly ever on sale and secondly you pay for the brand. The other con being compared to cameras of today the photo quality and technologies offered are not market leading.
Overall in todays market I would not recommend this product because it has become out-dated.
