Now this is a cool looking camera it's as thin as a modern mobile phone and comes in two different yet equally good looking colours, silver and midnight blue. The main selling point apart from performance with this camera is it's appearance. The gun metal grey (silver) makes it stylish while it's size makes it modern. The lens is located on the far left while the flash is centrally located near the top. The front and back of this camera are perfectly flat. The lens doesn't protrude at all and the flash bulb is small and discreet. When holding this up to take a photo the Sony logo tends to be the most noticeable part of the camera. This is right in the centre and is written in White, this looks great against the silver mettle.
This camera has a quality feel about it. Its light yet sturdy, it's thin yet functional at only W - 9.8cm, H - 6cm, D -1.8cm and weighs 133 g. It has a resolution of 10.2 mega pixels not the best resolution of the cameras in my home but vanity plays a part in my selection, as the best picture camera doesn't always look as good as this. Don't get me wrong 10.2 is great but there are higher spec models available when it comes to mega pixels.
It has lots of picture modes, too many to list. Although we did use this camera during a heavy snow storm and the snow function resulted in some good pictures, although the ones taken in daylight did come out better than the night time ones. Again this camera has my favourite function, face detection, this focuses in on the persons face rather than surrounding unwanted items plus this camera has a few fancy additions to this feature. It has not only face detection, but also blink detection and smile detection. Nice.
It has an amazing video camera that takes 1920 x 1080 pictures that's full HD and with the HDMI connection you can watch back those videos in stunning quality on your TV (as long as it too is full HD)
it takes all the main memory formats SD card and so on. The more expensive, bigger memory professional cards are recommended for high definition video recording. My brother spent a lot of money on this camera and so spent a good bit more getting a high end memory card as it doesn't make sense having one without the other.
When I use it which is quite often I find it to be a fantastic camera, the 3.5 inch colour screen is on the back and has a very good picture I can make out every detail and the colours look great. I use this to filter through the photos after I have taken them and delete what's not worth keeping. I can also remove red eye, crop, and zoom using this handy screen. I use the USB connector to link this to my PC for further picture adjustments.
This camera not only looks great, but it takes great pictures and amazing video. What more could you ask for?
