Advantages: high quality photos, quick uploads,
Disadvantages: memory sticks can be expensive and a lot of fakes around
We';d been looking to upgrade our camera for a while, it was a wedding present in 2006 and quite low on the old megapixels. Having a camera savvy dad didnt help, he was always up to date camera wise. Our holiday this year made our mind up, our camera just wasnt cutting it anymore.
After looking around we decided that we definately wanted a cybershot, then it was just a matter of which one. On reviews this one came up best for us, having the 8.1 megapixels and functions we wanted from a camera and in a decent price range. These were selling for between £50-£100 on places like ebay and amazon when we were looking and we managed to get one from ebay for £55 del. It came with all the usual, the software disc, wrist strap, cables, charger etc and the camera was a lovely smart silver aluminium design. We also purchased the memory pro duo stick for it and a hard case to protect our new investment.
Since buying it it has been used no end just taking photos on an almost daily basis of my 2 beautiful kids and it never fails to get a good shot! I especially like the smile detector setting, this is where it automatically shoots and takes a picture as soon as smile is detected-very clever and fun!!! There re plenty of differnt shooting modes, but for the simple shooting photographer like myself i use either easy mode or smile detection.
The charger is a unit charger as the battery is the now old style lithium one, and the battery holds a good charge and can take a very good ammount of pictures before it needs charging, probably more than you'd want to take! I charge mine overnight if i need it the next day.
The camera itself comes in a variety of colours ( i wanted pink but hubby flat out refused) and there are a wide variety of styles of cases in all the colours you can imgine available on place like ebay etc. The memory sticks aren't cheap but I would only recommend buying them from reptuable shops/online shops as there are a lot of fakes around of these.
When uploading photos via the usb cable I have found it to be so quick, literally a matter of a minute for a lot of photos, so much quicker than my old one!
All in all I would give this cmer 10/10 for it's style and practicality and the photos it takes, mine now goes wherever i go, just incase i need to snap that important shot!
Summary: high quality camera for not a lot of pennies anymore
