This is my best digital camera so far. I bought this for when I went to America, and I am exceptionally impressed with the photo quality!
The camera is very easy to use! It has a little wheel on the right hand side on the back, which gives you the options of how you wish to record - e.g. nightshot, film, scenic - in total providing 10 options. I wouldn't say this camera is great for shorting night scenes, especially when needing to zoom, but for daytime zooming it is very good.
I go to a lot of gigs/concerts and I like to record some of the setlist. I then often put the videos up on YouTube and if people comment they often comment on how good the sound quality is. It isn't affected by any bass noises and I've stood right in front of massive speakers by now where I can feel the air coming out of them, and the sound quality is just as good as if I were standing right at the back.
The zoom is also quite good although not the best and I was contemplating buying another camera with a better zoom. However, what if the filming quality isn't as good? So I've stuck with this camera!
The battery is a Lithium battery and does take quite a while to charge so preparation is key! However it is easy to charge and does last quite a while. The camera also allows for memory cards which is a god send if you want to take a lot of pictures, or film a lot of things.
A fantastic camera and although before this i was useless at using cameras I have now become a wiz after my boyfriend bought it just before my son was born. It comes with lots of extra features and you can change the quality of the picture you are taking to a maxuimn of 12 mpix although the only problem we have encounted with 12 mpix pictures are you have trouble emailing them to your friends they takes hours to upload and that's if they do upload hotmail accounts can't except them! As well as taking great pictures you can record videos on it which we have used and they are quite good for a small camera although you will probably need extra memory sticks for that like us. The life of the battery does well and doesn't always seem to be on charge. Not only do you have the screen to look at when taking a picture you can also use the view finder if you like that old touch. Although it does come in handy if it's sunny and you can't see the screen. The camera itself is great value for money and the size of it is just right it fits in your pocket great.
I have been brought up on the concept that practice makes perfect but at 20 years of age I have now decided that, that is not strictly true or at least not when it comes to my photography skills. I must have taken more photos that some professionals in my time, every time me and the girls hit the town which is with great regularity I usually end up taking over 100 photos trouble is until I bought the Sony cyber-shot DSC-W200the pictures were always rubbish. This camera has turned my very bad photos into almost very good ones I think this is mainly down to one setting which I always have my camera on and that is the anti blur super steady shot. It is almost impossible to snap a poor picture using this setting. When you combine this setting with the fact that this camera has a huge megapixel of 12.1 I can snap hot guys from a distance and then just zoom in on them once I get the photos on my pc lol.
The camera itself does not have the biggest zoom function but at 3x optical and 6x digital it is plenty for me. I also like the fact that the camera is very slim and lightweight so can easily be taken with me everywhere I go. Since buying this camera the photo taking on nights out has been left solely down to me and that's how I like it because then I can edit them to suit before others get their eyes on them. The camera comes with software to connect to the pc and the software and the camera are very easy to use although there are some settings I have not ventured near yet. I got this camera as a gift from my dad and I believe he paid around £200 for it (I do love him so)!
This Sony Cybershot camera is the best camera i've ever used. I didn't realise how much a camera could do until i used this. It has a high amount of megapixels which make the photos you take with it very good quality. It has some new technology features on it, for example face detection which is where when your taking a picture it will specifically zoom in on people's faces so that it can make it easier to take pictures of people however, this option can also be annoying and it's not particulary that helpful. There is also the editing options which you can make several pictures from one with these options, for example fish eye which i think is suppose to make the picture look as if it's being seen by a fish, and the star burst edit option makes the picture have loads of stars in it.
The camera is a nice size, not to small to use but not too big and it's quite light too. The screen is a nice size, it's slightly bigger than some older cameras.
It's very easy to use this camera because a message comes up everytime you change an option so you know what it means.
The battery that comes with it is very good too, it lasts a long time because it doesn't use AA batteries it has it's own so i think the battery lasts slightly longer because of this.
Overall it's a very good camera i would definately reccomend it.
When my new Sony Cyber-shot arrived, i was sceptical - i had never been good with cameras. However, the uservinterface of this camera is exceptional. It has a very handy viewfinder, somewhat an irregularity for most digital cameras, who rely on a screen alone.
This was invaluable for when I went on holiday and couldn't see the screen due to the sun and reflections from the sandy beaches. It alows a perfectly framed shot in an environment where the weather makes taking a picture a complete mission.
The slim camera is eaily slipped into a bag or pocket and the massive, crystal-clear screen is fabulous. The fact that it is 12.1 mpx setting allows a beautiful, un-pixelated A3 image for those extra special photos. However, i recomend that you use the 5 mpx setting for general snaps as the camera doesnt come with a memory stick and you would be surprised just how fast you use up photos as photography become very addictive with this camera
This said, though, the memory of the camera is quite large especially with a memory stick and you dont have to worry about using up space through the video function as you can still take hundreds of photos on top of tens of videos.
With high memory such as above you dont have to worry about using the video part of the camera, you can shoot hundreds of photos too and just delete any poor ones.
The features of the camera for example the macro setting are very high-tec. Taking photos of flowers and nature with this setting is highly enjoyable and you get a brilliant end-product. On top of these settings is a brilliant slide show/ movie setting where you can create a brilliant Tv adaptable show for loved ones complete with music. With the software provided you can edit on your computer or burn to CD/DVD etc. You can even playback your photos on the camera screen immediately and show your family/friends using the aptly named Playback function.
The many different modes eg landscape, night, snow etc easily accesed. The rapid funtion allows a very paparazzi style of photography and can result in fun images of your lad playing football or your daughter in her dance competition.
All things considered, would I recommend this camera to a friend despite the fact it is not the cheapest out there? Of course I would. Go for it now! You will love it. Guaranteed.
The DSC-W200 combines the amazing detail of 12.1 MP resolution with high sensitivity for shooting without a flash even in very low light.
