Advantages: range of features ease of use
Disadvantages: Struggles on zoom
Brought this for my other half for Christmas but he has been using it for about 4 months now and is impressed with it! I brought it when it was on reduced price at £120 (but it can be brought for £100 at the mo). He is an SLR lover but wanted a compact point and shoot for when we take the dog out and he sees a "photo", its so small he just pops into his top pocket when he goes out to work.
About a week after I brought it a large crack developed across the screen which worried us as it hadnt been dropped or damaged in way. We took it back to Currys and after some tests they happily replaced it. They said it had never happened before and agreed that there was no sign of damage so suggested it was a one off design issue.
Even though its 12mp it does struggle a little when zooming in (in comaprison to SLRS)- but for the price does a good enough job. The night settings ensure clear crisp photos even in low light and the smile detection is a nice little touch, particularly when taking photos at family gatherings etc. It has a variety of settings ranging from night time, video (which is surprisingly good but does eat up space on the memory card) to Fireworks (which does pick up especially well) to "food". I am surprised by this as I dont think too many people often need to take photos of thier dinner!
All in all a good point and shoot compact. Excellent for the pricefrom a reputable manufacturer .
Summary: A good quality point and shoot compact camera!
