I was given the Sony DSC W510 for christmas in 2010 it was my first digital camera and I love it!
It looks great as it is slim and sleek and in my opinion, still looks better than lots of the cameras being released today. It has a nice 12 megapixel camera with a flash and takes clear, good quality photos although the flash is often delayed if you have low battery. It's light to carry and very easy to use, with a simple one click of the top button to take a photo, and clearly labeled buttons for zooming in and out (it has a really sharp 4x zoom) viewing your photos/playing back videos and accessing the menu which is easy to use and controlled with a circular keypad which allows you to use several features such retouching your photos if they have red-eye or deleting photos/videos.
Just above the circular keypad there is a three button control for picking between still photo, movie and sweep panorama (very fun) modes.
It takes a standard SD memory card and comes with a cable for its USB port for easily uploading your content to a computer.
It doesn't have the best battery life, it only lasts for around 200 shots but is fine for light use and you save a lot of battery time by turning the camera off in the time between use.
It has all the features you would expect (zoom, red-eye reduction, smile detection, steadyshot) but if you're looking for high-tech features (touchscreen, wi-fi etc) then it's not for you and although it does have video capabilities it is essentially a fairly basic digital camera so don't expect high quality filming.

Overall i would recommend this camera to anyone looking for a beginners digital camera or good-value and it does the trick for me!
