Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F505High imaging performance is synonymous with the built-in Carl Zeiss "Vario-Sonnar" lens system that is part of the Cyber-shot DSC-F505 camera. It provides among the best optics systems in the industry to deliver crisp detail and image clarity. The 5X optical and 10X precision digital zoom with macro focus and a manual focus ring delivers a sharper, clearer picture when zooming-in. Improved interpolation technology delivers cleaner digital zooming with less distortion than other cameras when using digital zoom. The Cyber-shot DSC-F505 digital camera captures 1600 x 1200 resolution images with a 1/2" CCD, custom designed for digital still photography. The images have a color depth of 24-bits, providing sharpness, depth and negligible distortion compared with the natural image. Print outs at this resolution are comparable with conventional photographs. A number of manual features on the Cyber-shot DSC-F505 camera allow users more control over image capture. These features include: one-button white balance control (auto/indoor/outdoor/one-push); one-button spot meter settings; and programmable auto exposure (AE). The programmed AE mode allows users the selection of the best aperture and shutter speeds for a given scene, lighting or action with: Shutter Speed Priority, Aperture Priority, Twilight Mode/Twilight + Mode, Landscape and Pan Focus. The Cyber-shot DSC-F505 features Sony's popular MPEG Movie Mode that allows consumers capture video and audio for business or pleasure. Sony's Playback Zoom with Crop and Save feature lets the consumer edit images during playback by zooming in and cropping the original image. If users want to copy a one-of-a-kind picture, they can use the camera's Copy feature that duplicates the digital file, whether image, MPEG movie or audio, onto another Memory Stick media. The Cyber-shot DSC-F505 camera also features picture effects modes that include: Sepia, Black & White, Solarisation and Negative Art. Newest Review: ... again takes your newly composed photo! I actually won the Sony DSC F505V which is just as well because £650 is quite a hefty price tag for a digital camera. That said I just love it. I have always been a conventional photographer saying that the quality of digital photography can't compete. This camera has made me change my mind! With 3.3 million pixels CCD (effective 2.6 @ 1856x1392 image size) is holds up to close scrutiny even with considerable enlargements. It is strange to look at but is very light when used to conventional cameras which are slightly larger but much heavier. There's very little it can't/doesn't do! In fact some of its capabilities will probably never be used by ... Read the complete review

It looks like something out of Star Trek and it ain’t cheap. But is it a top dollar camera, or a geeky gadget? If you don’t like sitting still, killing time in an airport departure lounge can be very expensive. The retaillers know this of course, and as a willing member of a captive audience I dutifully responded by buying Sony’s DSC F-505V. It wasn’t quite an impulse buy as I’d read the reviews, but now having used it for a few months, here’s the lowdown. It is an odd looking thing. Many digital cameras do look a bit strange compared to ‘normal’ 35mm compacts and SLR’s, but Sony does seem to ... Read the complete review

The is deffinately a pocket rocket of a camera. It is built around a superb carl Zeiss lens that can Zoom upto x 10 magnification. You can go for the fully automatic mode where the camera does all the work or you can switch to manual and take control of such things as focus, macro, white balance, spot metering, apperture or shutter priority. Now we get to the digital part, there are many special fetures such as recording a sound bite with each photograph to effects that can be applied to the pictures themselves. It can even take upto 15 seconds of moving pictures, with sound, this is great fun. It comes complete with 4 Mb of memory stick which can be upgraded to upto ... Read the complete review
