Advantages: Great Pictures, Easy to use, Loads of functions

Disadvantages: Need a bigger memory stick

I bought this camera before going on holiday really because I am a gadget freak more than anything else. I am a fan of Sony products but I did search around for, what I thought, the best camera before buying.

When I bought the camera I also bought a 64mb memory stick as well because the 8mb one that comes with it is way too small for good quality pictures.

For most pictures taken I used the 2nd best quality which managed around 40 pictures to be stored. The picture quality is absolutely stunning especially on Macro. The 3x zoom is very useful as is the extra 3x digital zoom except you do loose quality here.

The camera features are numerous and ,as usual, some are useful, some not. being able to change the quality of the pictures after taking them is great if you are running out of memory. The Mpeg video is great fun and does not take up too much memory. Although the camera is a "point and shoot" it is still reasonably versatile as one can alter exposure, white out, flash modes etc. There is one mode which I really like - when taking a picture (in any quality) you can have it also save it in 640/40 quality which is very good for e-mail as the memory size is small.

Battery time is great and it also gives a rough guide on how many minutes use you have left.

There are only three negative points I can think of, firstly, you do need to buy a bigger memory stick if you need yo take more than a few pictures. Secondly, it does feel slightly akward to hold to start with. Thirdly, Sony's memory stick - can only be used in Sony products unlike many other cameras which will take a universal memory card.

Overall - Thoroughly recommended.

Sounds good, but I only have eyes for my Fuji 4700 zoom, I'm in love with it. I tend to keep it to top quality if I'm at home(9 shots), but if away, medium. It's great to be able to store everything on disc and edit shots isn't it?
