Advantages: easy to use camera, small and compact, start taking great shots immediately, great software,

Disadvantages: uses lots of battery power, flash shots sometimes a problem, needs a memory stick

Not knowing a lot about digital cameras, this was my first experience and I purchased it on the advice of the shop assistant in the States last year for less than $200. I wanted a simple model which offered zoom, and easy downloading.

I got that and more.

If you use the display screen, it does use a lot of battery power, (goes through two Duracell AAs in a day) but this is eased by buying a rechargeable battery set.

On his advice I also purchased a memory stick, otherwise its internal memory is only capable of about 12 shots. I have taken some superb photos and some great video clips. With the software supplied I have also put together some great "movies" complete with sound, great memories of days out and holidays.

I still have much to learn on flash photography, and sometimes I find the "shot" has gone by the time I've changed the settings, but on the whole a great entry level digital camera. Would recommend.

Summary: It's easy to use and download, almost idiot proof.

Quite a lot of useful information in few words. I would have liked to have known what the lens was like for quality and also could not understand how one could switch from using the screen, as on most digital cameras that I have used, the screen comes on automatically. You say about downloading, and here I think what you meant was transferring photos from the camera to the computer, and I think I would have liked to have seen the process explained, as this differs from camera to camera. Seems a little on the expensive side compared to what is available.
