Quality shots at low ISO (lo80 to 400) and only slightly lacking in the high making the alpha a great starter. I have used this camera on location and in the studio and it performs great. I would recomend getting an external flash gun for location and low light shots. Sigma make a selection of lenses along with carl zise also. A fantastic camera for a first time user. The easy to menu and functions are great and the 10.2 mega pixle sensor pcks up so much detail. Coupled with a few choice lenses from ebay and other places you can kit your self up for a few hundred quid. Using the back catalogue of minolta lenses for a fraction of the cost of new sony lenses makes sence for the cost savy.
