Excellent camera for taking snapshots. Pretty good definition, Although could be better for making larger prints (8 By 10 and up). The zoom capability is very good, as is its ability to take nice, acceptible shots in lower than optimum light conditions. In my opinion, battery life could be better, a plus here is the auto shut off when it has been idle for a time, but when actively taking photos, it just seems like there should be another 1/2 hour or so to battery life. Basically good onscreen instructions for the picture effects abilities, however, I would certainly like a few "reminders" on a laminated card that would come attached to the shoulder strap. This camera can be used straight out of the box, that is after you have charged the battery. You do not have to read an extensive manual to find out how to turn it on and the onboard menu is simple to use. The camera uses floppy disks to record pictures so there is no need for expensive photo cards. The only gripe I have with it is ...
