Sony Mavica MVC-FD88The MVCFD88 is a megapixel camera with a true resolution of 1280 x 960, giving it a pixel count of about 1.2 million. That's enough to allow decent-looking printouts at typical snapshot sizes (4x6). In addition to its still-image function, the camera has a built-in microphone and can capture up to 60 seconds of motion video in MPG format with 160 x 112 pixels; video recording up to 15 seconds in MPG format with 320 x 240 pixels; sound recording up to 5 seconds per image. A nice feature found throughout the Mavica line is a disk copy function. It uses the internal memory as a temporary cache, allowing you to copy the entire contents of a floppy onto another disk even when you're not at a computer. Newest Review: ... I can't believe no one has offered an opinion on this camera, especially as it's not particularly new. So, I thought I'd address the situation and let you know just how good this camera is! By today's standards, the Mavica range are dated, as they don't offer massive MegaPixel statistics or flash gimmicks. They're also not too compact or lightweight. Instead, this particualr model has a 1.3 MegaPixel CCD, which is good enough for home users (anything more and you're getting carried away with yourself). Images are stored onto a floppy disk that fits right inside the camera. Yes, that's right! A floppy disk! You can also ... Read the complete review

If you?re thinking of investing in a digital camera then this is well worth a read. The Mavica FD-88 is a tiny, stylish and altogether superb camera, which comes at reasonable price especially when you consider all the features. And of course knowing my taste I?m sure you?ll all love it!!! (ha ha) So why did I buy this camera ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well I was looking for a reasonably cheap digital camera (one that uses floppy disks). There was a range of reasons from wanting to take pictures at weddings and never running out of film to having a laugh and editing the pictures. So once I?d decided that it was definitely a digital camera that I ... Read the complete review

The Sony MVC-FD88 Digital Camera is a notch up from the MVC-FD83.The salient differences in the cameras are: The FD88's 1/3" CCD contains 1.3 million pixels while the FD83's 1/3" CCD has 850K pixels. The FD88 zooms optically/digitally 8X/16X as compared to the FD83's 3X/6X. Oh, yes, the FX83 costs about $800.00 and the FD88 will set you back one grand. IN THE BOX. The attractive retail box includes the following items: Camera. Battery charger and cord. Operating Instructions in English and Spanish. warranty, safety instructions, misc. instructions, etc. CD ...
