The PDR-5 is a new way of thinking. Not only did Toshiba improve on the superior speed, ease of use, and automation of the award-winning PDR-2, but also built a See-Through PC Card (a first in the digital camera category) for viewing the expansive 2.5 color LCD. The LCD incorporates new reflective LCD technology, so colors become enriched when viewing outdoors, instead of washing out like most other LCD's used in sunlight. And the reflective LCD uses one-tenth the power of backlit LCD's, giving you much longer battery life. The PDR-5 improves on the speed, ease of use and automation of the award winning PDR-2. Flip open the attached PC card, plug it into your computer and watch your pictures on your screen within seconds. No cables, no connectors...

      Very helpful

This camera came free with my pc package 2 years ago, and has been an absolute marvel. It is quite small in conparison to some digital cameras and is very simple to operate. There are 2 modes for taking pictures normal and macro, i tend to use normal for the majority of pictures as it takes pretty good close up pictures. YOu are able to take pictures in balck and white and to delete them if they are no good rather than downloading them. There is a playback facility useful with tha above feature. The distance pictures are not that good quality however, but for a freebie whose to argue, the close ups are amazing and its ease to use a boon for a non technically minded person
