This Toshiba is small enough to fit your pocket/purse and has a good set of features and it comes with very user friendly software. It takes good pictures with six quality levels and is not the kind of digital that will quicky look and feel outdated by newer machines on the market. Battery life (rechargeable) is very good. Beware the USB download arrangements as the camera dosn't always always like downloading in this mode - serial is ok. I'm pleased I bought mine. Why did Toshiba make the subsequent model so much bigger and bulkier?

The Toshiba PDR-M4 digital camera gives you a truly photographic experience with its new high speed Digital Signal Processor. The new DSP greatly reduces the time between shots, so you are ready to shoot again in only 0.8 seconds. And in burst mode you can shoot in just 0.5 second intervals. It also incorporates USB connectivity, so you can download your images to your Mac or Windows PC as much as 35 times faster than with a standard serial interface. The PDR-M4 has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 for extremely detailed 2.14 megapixel images. Its 1.8" LCD monitor gives you an array of viewing features like slideshow and multi-image mode. The PDR-M4 uses SmartMedia storage in 2 to 32MB capacities (8MB SmartMedia Card is included), and has firmware that is upgradable to allow for additional features in the future.
