A strong performing camera that is perfect for space conscious users

This Vivitar 8380 is a great little camera that takes up very little space and is perfect for taking away with you - it's completely un-intrusive yet feature-full. It is extremely easy to transfer your pictures from your camera to your computer, you can do this via the USB cable that is sold with the camera or by removing the memory card that you use (if you choose to purchase one) and inserting it into our computers card reader (once again, if you choose to purchase one) it's an easy copy and paste procedure that you can use to transfer files and manage space. In terms of the picture quality I can't complain, the camera does exactly what it tells you and takes vividly colourful photos that look professional and crisp, there is also a digital zoom which works 'OK', it could be better of course and I find that taking an unzoomed photo, and then zooming in on the computer with photo editing software is more effective and gives you a higher quality result. The camera can also take video footage, however the quality isn't exactly HD and there is no sound, so I avoid this feature if I can help it. To conclude I would advise that you do purchase this camera as it is sturdy and high quality and is small enough to fit in your pocket. There's no reason to forget those special moments, whatever they may be, when there is a camera like this on the market.

An excellent camera for taking away o holiday

Vivitar Vivicam is simple to use. A handy size to put in your pocket and carry about in your handbag. Simple to download onto a laptop, just connect the USB lead and save into a file or folder. Also has video recording which can also be stored simply onto your PC. Picture quality is excellent with an 8mp camera, pictures are clear and colours are vivid. With a 3x digital zoom, you can zoom in on those special moments, also has a red eye reduction function and flash. Look through your photos on the basic scroll display or view them all on one screen in a thumbnail function. Once photos are downloaded you get an option to delete them from the cameras memory card enabling you more space to take more snaps. I save them onto a memory stick so that I can access them anywhere. A good price for what you get.

        Terrific Value for money

I recently bought this camera to replace a much more expensive camera that at a couple of years old needed updating. I begrudged paying out another couple of hundred of quid on something that I'd probably be replacing anyway in another couple of years and after searching round came across this camera. The features on offer for the price seemed too good to be true! So what's it got...... 8.0 MP 3 X Optical Zoom 4 X Digital Zoom 3.0" LCD Screen Face Detection Smile Detection Anti-Shake Li-ion battery and charger Pictbridge compatible 32MB internal memory (supports SD/SDHC memory card up to 4GB) Upload photos to PC via USB cable 20 different Scene Modes Image Resolution 3264 x 2448, 2816 x 2112, 2272 x 1704, 1600 x 1200, 640 x 480 Video mode Resolution 320 x 240, 640 x 480 It's really compact and comes with carry case, wrist strap and detailed instruction booklet. At 3" the LCD monitor gives a clear, easy to see image and in addition to the above you also have the ability to attach a voice memo of up to 30 seconds to still images. Since I've had it I've taken photos of my dog whilst jumping up and down (me, not the dog!) using the anti-shake setting, drove friends/family mad trying out the face and smile detection settings and despite my hardest efforts to get a bad photo, every single one has come out crystal clear and in focus. So if you want a point and shoot camera with loads of extra features, that looks good, is small enough to fit in your pocket or handbag (about the same size as a pack of cigarettes) this camera is unbelievable value for money! Please Note: I also review on Amazon under username Big Bertha and this review (or a version of it) may appear on there
