Cirrus Digital Keyring 1.5" Photo Frame
Advantages: Design, easy to use, set up, displays pictures in good quality.
During last Christmas I was struggling to think of what to get for stocking fillers and little gifts for family and friends, as there are so many tatty gifts that are useless and end up getting thrown away or placed on a shelf to gather dust. Therefore I was looking around for some ideas and came across this Cirrus Digital Keyring 1.5" Photo Frame and decided to read some reviews and look around for good prices.
== Price ==
I remember looking around on the internet and seeing it on Amazon for around £10.00, which is a good price for a small digital photo frame key ring. However I remember finding some even cheaper on eBay for around £6, so I decided to purchase them from eBay. I do tend to be a bit cautious when buying item from eBay, but thankfully the seller for this item had 100% feedback and a great feedback score so I wasn't that worried about not receiving item as described or not receiving the item at all! The great thing about buying a few was that the seller gave me postage discount, so I ended up buying an even bigger bargain. I purchased two pink coloured ones and one blue; these also come in a silver finish.
== Packaging ==
The items came enclosed in its original box packaging which also contained the USB adapter for the photo frame, a key ring, key chain and software CD. It also had a small instruction leaflet which was well written and easy to follow.
== My Experience ==
I decided to open the pink one and keep it for myself (I just couldn't resist!) and was very happy with the design, it had a nice glossy pink finish. The frame although is made of plastic, but doesn't look that cheap and does look more expensive than £6.00.
The frame is 1.5 inches, and has a small LCD screen that displays the photos in a colour. Although the It has a small screen it still manages to display coloured pictures clearly thanks to the 128 pixel resolution.
The key ring looks like any other standard chain attached to a ring that allows it easily to attach to keys. It can also be worn around the neck due to its fabric attachment, however I personally only attach it to my key ring as I find it more practical.
The digital photo frame comes with a rechargeable battery which is very convenient, meaning I do not have to waste money on buying batteries every time it runs out. It is very simple to recharge, simply use the USB cable provided to computer USB port (or any other USB ports) and it starts charging almost instantly.
The Software CD contains the installation software that allows the digital frame to be recognised by your computer so that slideshows can be made and photos etc can be added and deleted. I found the installation process very easy, as the help screen pretty much guided me through the process.
Uploading pictures onto the digital frame was also a piece of cake, all that was needed was to open the My Pictures folder on my computer and drag the pictures I wanted into the digital frame folder, which then opened the software window and allowed me to customise the photos further. It allowed basic adjustments to be made, such as size of picture, rotating etc; which again was fairly straightforward to do. I was also very happy with the speed of transfer, it took only a second or two for it to transfer the photo onto the digital device which was very speedy.
The Digital photo frame has a good 8mb capacity which allows around 80 photos to be stored onto the device, which is more than enough for me as I only put latest ones on their to show family and friends and delete them later on I need be, but to be honest I have yet to delete any as I still have loads of space left over.
The pictures can be brought up and displayed by simply pressing the menu button on the device and it will allow you to scroll though all the pictures on the digital photo frame. I like that has a slideshow option as well as time adjusting option for the slideshow, which means I can just sit back and allow my family to see all the pictures without having to scroll through them manually.
I found that the battery lasts quite long for a small photo frame, I only spend a few minutes showing my family pictures and then turn it off. However it says that it lasts around half an hour if left on before the battery goes flat, which isn't a problem because it only takes about 10 minutes to fully charge again when connected via USB.
== Final Verdict ==
Overall a great buy for £6, and would even pay £10 for them. It is very easy to set-up and use and displays pictures clearly. It has a decent memory and therefore can hold a high number of photos, therefore I would recommend this item highly, as my family and friends love their gift and still use it a year later!
Summary: Thanks for Reading :)
