10 indispensable things to take on holiday with you

Advantages: It is so much Better to Keep a List.
Disadvantages: I Still Forget at Least One.
Ok now we all love when we come up to going on holiday and we get to 1. Actually get some time off work and 2. Actually get some sunny weather. I decided to write this review because last week I was helping my mom to pack for Spain. I don’t know about you but when I am packing I am always panicking about forgetting things and this is mainly because we went to France a few years back and my mom forgot to pack any clothes. Do not ask me how she did this but all she had was her airport clothes and swimming costume to survive on until we found somewhere to buy her some stuff. Bearing this in mind I have come up with this list that will hopefully help you pack the things you need.
1. Money.
The essential thing for any holiday to go exactly as planned as without it lets face it you would be pretty stuck. I always make sure the first thing I do is to get my money sorted, keep a mental note of exactly how much is there and then split it and store in different places. My aunt last year kept all of her money in her backpack and it all got stolen. Since then we have tried to store it in as many places as possible. Also if you have your money then at least if you have forgot other essential things to take on holiday with you then at least you can buy new ones.
2. Clothes.
As you will now know by the story of my mom at the top, forgetting your clothes can be done so it is important that you make a list of all of the types of clothes you want to take such as underwear, swimming clothes, going out clothes and casual clothes. When you are sure you have everything written down in front of you then pack the said clothes and tick them off of your list as you are going.
3. Pain killers.
Now when you travel abroad, sometimes it is hard to get used to the sun, the atmosphere and the food which can leave you with a really bad headache and a funny tummy. One of the most efficient ways to solve this is to take some painkillers such as nurofen or paracetemol. Every holiday I go on I always get asked by my boyfriend or my sister if I have painkillers because not many people think that it is that important to take them. The last thing you want on your holiday is to be feeling ill so that is why they are up here at the top at number three.
4. Brush / Shampoo.
Simple but again I have known people to forget the little luxury that is a hairbrush and shampoo. When you are abroad it is hard to read instructions on bottles of haircare so I always make sure I take some with me especially because I can only use a few shampoos on my hair. When you are in a hot place it can get humid or you have simply been in the sea or in the pool. These things all affect the way your hair looks and I am sure like me your hair gets easily tangled and actually feels horrible to touch after a while. This is why it is so important to remember your shampoo and brush so that you can sort yourself out and always feel beautiful.
5. Razor.
I am neurotic about having hairy armpits or legs so I always make sure my razor comes on holiday with me. I hate the hair growing and prefer the smooth look so I shave nearly every day so I take my razor and some shaving cream so I can be prepared and stay smooth for the whole holiday. I should get everything waxed but I am too scared of pain. Now make sure you put it in your suitcase as it will get confiscated if you take it in your hand luggage.
6. Toothbrush.
Again I know I am neurotic about everything but my toothbrush I always forget for some reason. Countless times on holiday have I forgot it and now it always stays on this list so I can print it out and remember it next time. I hate the thought that I cannot brush my teeth and so it is a nightmare if I forget it. Can’t really say much more on the subject as I am sure you will all agree it is a very important possession.
7. Batteries.
I always remember batteries on my holiday because they are so useful for things like cameras, personal stereos, electric toothbrushes and mini televisions which are all taken on holiday with me. I always take about eight in total so I can guarantee that I will have full use of my possessions for the entire time I am away.
8. Camera.
Yes where would we all be if we came back from holiday with no great and amazing photos to remind us of the brilliant time we had. I come from a family who are a bit obsessed with photos and therefore so am I. I like to take photos of everywhere I go on holiday, where I am staying and of any photo opportunity that I come across. I think me and my boyfriend came back with about seven camera films from our last holiday which was for a week so I always take plenty of film with me. Everybody likes to get back home and get excited waiting for them to be developed and then showing off to people about what they have done, well I do anyway.
9. Shoes .
Now the important thing to remember here is not just to take one pair of shoes and think yeah that will do. Think about what you are going to be doing on holiday, will you be spending a lot of time on the beach therefore you could do with some cheap shoes so the sand does not ruin your good ones, are you going to be doing any walking so comfortable shoes are a must. I know everybody laughs at women as we always pack lots of shoes and we do because we are getting prepared for every possibility and occasion.
10. Passport.
Now I know you are down here thinking well surely that should be number one on your list and in some respects you are right. The reason it is stationed here at number ten is because although it is important it is also the item that is usually checked the most. Now my dad is a fantastic example of this as he always forgets his passport but because it is such an important thing to remember he constantly checks that he has it.
There you have it, my short and simple guide to making sure you take the essentials on holiday with you. Yes I know you can buy many of these things in the shops when you are on holiday but hey if you have them at home then why spend your holiday money on getting more of them. Also I wish I could have put more things such as make-up and sunglasses but only room for ten. Have fun all of you lucky people who are going on holiday this side of the year as it sure is cold here in Britain.
Thanks for reading.
