My 10 Things To Take On Holiday Is... Based on hot places.
1.) Documents: Passport & Tickets.
Lets face it if you didn't have these you wouldn't get every far!
I put both these & any other essential documents into a safe place at all times!
I always check i have my documents before leaving the house, sitting in the car, 15 mins down the road & in the car park at the airport then getting it out just before check in.
Can never be too careful =)
When i arrive at my destination most hotels have a safe, i put them in there & leave them in there though out my stay!
2.) Lotions: Suncream & aftersun.
I don't like looking like a lobster so these our important and even more so because you don't want to get sunburnt which means premeture aging and risk of skin cancer.
I usually take a factor 30+ depending where i'm going, some people think you don't tan if you wear suncream. This is untrue i always wear it & get great tans, so does everyone else i know!
Aftersun for those spots you accidently missed, feet is always one for me!!
And just to keep your skin moisturised on holiday! Lots of water, hot weather and stuff and really dry your skin out so in the evening aftersun is nice and refreshing, it also helps to keep your tan longer!
3.) Clothes!!
I take lots of summer clothes, and the odd light weight thin cardie for the evening, just incase!
Swimwear - Flip Flops, i always take flip flops which i will wear in the sea, around the pool or just walking little ways. And a pair of comfy shoes for days out and evenings.
To come home in i will take light weight tousers such as linen ones, t-shirt and then a warm jacket for coming out the airport!
I made the mistake once of coming home in a t-shirt and 3/4 length trousers. It was Raining cats & dogs, windy and freeezing. Worst thing was ended up standing outside for about 20 minutes waiting for our shuttle bus thing to take us to the car park!
4.) Camera!
I like to take photos on my holidays & i tend to take alot! As do most people.
My last holiday i took well over 300 pics (was New York) but still, i took them on my camera & mobile!
Also take spare batterys for your camera or take the charger!
5.) Hand luggage.
From a 2 hour flight - 23 hour flight, it does get boring.
In my hand luggage which tends to be a small bag (but a Mary Poppins style one, i was very surprised about how much i could cram in) i have my documents, a good book, camera, sweets, notebook, pen, mobile, Nintendo DS + a game in the console and maybe one or two more. Then i usually end up carrying a magazine.
6.) Money.
I take the currency of the place i'm going to, a bit of english money & if you have a card that you can use abroad & doesn't charge take that just incase anything goes wrong.
7.) Bits & Bobs
Hair Straigtners, Shampoo & Conditioner, Deoderant!, hair bands, make-up...
My hair tends to go crazy in hot weather so my straightners are also in my suitcase.
8.) Travel Adapter
You need one of these so you can use your electrical stuff.
Make sure you have the right one for the country you are visiting!
9.) Medicines
Incase you get struck down by some sort of bug it's useful to take some paracetamol, ibprofen, imodium, re-hydration sachets, maybe travel sickness tablets.. plasters.
10.) Travel Insurance.
This stuff is pretty essential! No need to explain why.
Summary: I Hope I Haven't Forgotten Anything!
