Advantages: Here's my list.

Disadvantages: It's not your list?

Ok, here it is, my list of 10 things you are absolute must haves for me on holiday:

1. Passport - You aren't leaving the country without this and even if you are just UK bound for your holiday it's always important to have a form of identification with you, even if it's just for showing in a pub to prove that you're old enough to order that wine or beer.

2. Ipod - This is an essential item for me, it doesn't have to be an Ipod, I've used a Creative Zen in the past, it's just that my Ipod is now finally updated with some music that both myself and my other half are interested in listening to and therefore we can share the use of it.

3. Mobile Phone & Charger - I realise that most people go on holiday to get away from absolutely everything, I am one of those people, however, I always take my mobile phone and my charger on holiday with me and ensure that my phone is going to work abroad before I leave. A few years ago I was in Egypt when a bomb went off and bringing my mobile (topped up of course) was extremely useful for letting worried family and friends know what we were fine and would be coming home later that week (as soon as we got a flight!).

4. Sunglasses - It's important to protect your eyes and whilst I'm not a sun worshipper my sunglasses are not only a useful fashion accessory for any holiday outfit they are also good for spying on people by the poolside without them being aware!

5. Sun-Tan Lotion - It's definitely an essential item and I use quite a high factor suncream at all times, I'm not too worried about going a deep dark brown on holiday, I just want to avoid getting burnt and protect myself from the sun wherever possible. Remember that it needs to be reapplied regularly and always read the instructions with regards to swimming etc.

6. Camera - You are having a break, it's probably better whether where you are than where you live so you'll want to be taking photographs of everything to gloat about when you get back home and to create memories that you can remember forever, and hell, when you can't remember them anymore due to old age or whatever you can whip out your photos to have a look!

7. Lush Shower Gel - I always like to take a Lush shower gel on holiday with me as they don't take up much space at all, are pretty reasonable in price, smell delicious and can double us at shampoo and even to wash your swimming costume with (if you get desperate!).

8. Clothes - Of course you are going to need clothes whilst you are on holiday and these should always be appropriate to the kind of weather that you are going to get, although it's always best to be prepared with a couple of cardigans etc just in case the weather gets chilly in the evenings or you have a day of rain.

9. Razor - This is definitely an essential item for any ladies to keep yourself trim and looking good whilst lying around in your bikini, tankini, swimming costume and/or sarong, nobody wants to have prickly legs on holiday, especially not if it's just you and your partner and you're experiencing that added spark in your relationship that holidays can sometimes bring.

10. Carrier Bag - Last but not least it's good to take a few carrier bags away with you to bag up your dirty washing as nobody wants to have their clean clothes and their dirty clothes mixing together and it might not always be practical to have your threads lying around once worn (depending on the security of your hotel I guess!), one example of something weird was in a hotel in Egypt when we came home and after forgetting to shut up our suitcases the maid had built a "man" out of our clean clothing and placed it on the top of the toilet seat, I was not impressed at all!

So there you have it, this is my list for must have items when going on holiday, now I just need to get some money together and book something for the summer (doesn't it seem to be coming round very fast!).

Thanks for reading.

Summary: This is what I would recommend for a holiday.
