5 Reasons Why I Think I'm Strange

Advantages: At least I'm unique.

Disadvantages: I may have just scared you off.

How strange am I?

I don't think I'm strange, just different! Everyone is different from each other and we all have our on little quirkiness about us. The world would be a boring place if we were all the same. Most of us think that other people are strange because they do things differently to ourselves. These little strange behaviours are what make us unique and individual. I don't think I'm strange - I think I'm special (At least that's what the voice in my head always tells me)

I'm usually called a nutter or a fruit loop - nice I know hehe!

I have always been different since my early teens I had a love for alternative music mostly being grunge and rock music, I dressed differently to my family and friends, and coloured my hair all sorts of bright colours from green and black, to bright purple. Not for attention, as most people would ask if that was the reason for me to dress in outrageous clothes, because that is who I was and how I felt comfortable and I wasn't going to change for anyone, no matter how hard friends and family would try to encourage me to be 'normal' why should I change to make others happy if I'm happy then people should accept me for me. This was no passing phase for me, as several years later I am still listening to the same music which has broadened with age. I now have a wider range of music that I like and I still dress how I want, I don't follow trends or fashions.

So here are 5 reasons why I'm apparently strange:

1.***Laughing uncontrollably***

There is nothing wrong with laughing, I hear you say. Laughing is good! Well I laugh a lot and usually at things that no one else finds funny, not only that I have been told that I have a bit of a crazy laugh, which is certain to make people look at me.

I will be in the cinema with family or friends watching a movie, it is quiet in the cinema and all you can hear is the rustling of people snacking on popcorn and all of a sudden I will burst out into laughter BUT I will be the only person in the cinema that is laughing! Not quietly either a rip roaring laugh, this will make my family or friends that are with me feel a bit embarrassed and they will sshhh me, and because I'm the only person in the cinema laughing I then continue to laugh because I find it amusing that I'm the only person laughing. hehe!

2.***Alcohol***

I don't drink alcohol - so people call me strange! I don't see a problem with it, it's my choice but because I'm still fairly young people just can't understand why I don't drink. I used to drink when I was in my teens and up until a few years ago, I have never been big on alcohol and I can't understand the people that get wasted every weekend to have fun. That's not my idea of fun, I know how to enjoy myself when sober and I actually know what I'm doing, when I'm out I will always be on the dance floor having a good time, the only difference is I don't wake up the next morning feeling rough and I still have money to take home at the end of the night! I'm not saying that I have never been drunk I have on quite a few occasions when I have been to all weekend parties I used to drink more than most people and I was always lucky to never suffer a hangover. A few years ago I decided to stop drinking, people think I'm strange for it and they can't understand why I turn down a drink.

3.***Dreaming***

On occasions when I have been in the land of nod I can be having a dream and wake up before the end of my dream - how disappointing so I have to finish it in my mind I will lay in bed with my eyes closed whilst imaging the end of my dream making the ending how I want it to be.
Also when I was younger I used to talk in my sleep, and sleep walk. I used to walk around the house and go downstairs and my parents would find me in the shed. I would even have conversations with them. Maybe I was talking to the pigeons that we had in the shed - who knows!

4.***I'm a bit of a chatter box***

I have always been outgoing and I always like to be heard. I don't know how I cope when I lose my voice; I think others around me are relieved to have a bit of a break hehe!

I talk about everything and anything, and mostly utter rubbish I have odd ideas and thoughts and like to share them with others even though they look at me weirdly.

I talk to myself all the time, well don't you? I don't see what is strange about this. I mean I'm the only person that actually listens to me and understands me hehe. I can be at home by myself and I will sit and talk to myself I usually go over things as I'm doing them. I can be in the supermarket and I will be looking on the shelf and I will ask myself out loud if I need it, I will also sing while I'm doing my shopping not humming quietly to myself actually sing, the only problem is I never remember the lyrics to songs so I have to make them up.

When I'm having a conversation with someone I will just change the topic and start talking about something completely different.

I have lost some confidence over the years so I can appear a bit shy, but once you get to know me well there is no shutting me up!

I like to have fun, and I'm always acting a fool. If I'm in a music store and a tune I like comes on I will start to dance, and if I see someone else who is mad enough to dance then I just have to join in!

When I'm at friend's house we will put on dance videos that you can dance to, and do the 'cha cha slide' - in my own style of course!

Also while walking down the street with my friend I will wave at passers by that I don't know.

I'm also known to make random odd noises. I'm even known to walk like a chicken, or even a pigeon, whilst out in public with others.

I think I just like to embarrass my friends, they think I'm crazy but we always have a laugh.

When I was staying with a friend, we would always do silly things. At night when we are bored we would dress up in silly outfits I was more outrageous than my friend I would even put my pyjamas over the top of my clothes. Gel my hair up on one side and make the other side look scruffy, and wear bright green eye makeup just on the one eye, just so we could walk down to the store to get some chocolate. Passers by would try there hardest not to laugh and we would get into the store and act all normal and go up to the counter and have a conversation with the guy behind the counter who was trying his hardest not to lose it, he was rather amused.

I don't Care what people think, I like to have fun and enjoy myself, why not?
There's no fun in being boring!

5.***Bugs!***

I'm scared of insects; OK not scared more like petrified not just any insect all of them! I call them bugs and apparently I say this word oddly, because people like to make fun of me and copy the way I say it. If I see a bug I freak out, I can't settle until said bug has been removed from the house. If I am home alone and there is a spider on the wall *shudders* I have to sit and watch it until someone comes home to rescue me! If I lose where it is, then we have to look for it and I'm not happy until I know it is not anywhere to be found.

I'm even scared of butterflies, I didn't know this until a visit to the butterfly farm with my family, I was ok until one got near me! Since then I have always been scared of them, moths are even worse!
I would never harm an insect though; I just don't like them near me!

I must be strange to be writing a review about why I'm strange! Haha!
If you didn't already think I was a bit different, I hope this hasn't made you think I'm a complete nut hehe!

So what do you think...am I strange?

Yes, you are pretty strange, but then again . . . not necessarily more so than anyone else, because who on earth really knows what exactly "normal behaviour" is, Who? Perhaps there is a lot of strangeness in the most normal among us, and a lot of normality in the weirdest among us. Mayan820.

You know this is the first one of these I have read where I think that ... yes you are strange... but in a very good way!
