What's in your makeup bag?
by alfiepeaches
My makeup bag is full of quite samey things and mostly stuff that I use everyday, I have another makeup bag in my cupboard that has stuff I don't really use much or makeup that I use for Halloween as it's a bit crazier. I am definitely not a make up hoarder and tend to buy things that I am sure to use. I'm not really a lipstick/gloss or ... eyeshadow wearer either which saves a lot of space for me and have a hole separate bag filled with nail polishes.
My makeup bag is middle sized, I manage to squish everything in it I need without it being too big and clumpy. My makeup bag is Betsey Johnson brand, it is bright pink with a black lace and skull and red rose pattern on, I love it so much! The inside has a screw pattern and I am very OCD about keeping it clean! There is a small pocket on the outside where I keep some spare cotton buds and hair grips but I wish there was a little zip one inside too.
So, onto the actual contents!
The tools I have include eyelash curlers, tweezers, red hair grips, spare hair bands. No brushes as I don't use anything that needs them!
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer spf 20 in 'Porcelain'- acts as a moisturizer, suncream, foundation/primer and fits easily in my bag, love this!
The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15- I used this before laura Mercier and only use it now if my face feels extremely dry.
Avon SPF 15 Lip Balm- keeping my lips from burning!
Benefit Porefessional full sized and mini sample- only use occasionally.
Witchstick- to dry up pesky spots!
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder- this tends to stay in my bag more though I use it throughout the day.
Benefit Boiing Concealer- one of the best things in my makeup bag which I use every single day.
Benefit Erase Paste- I use a mix of this and Boiing for covering up my dark circles.
Benefit IT Stick - a freebee, basically Boiing in stick form.
Urban Decay Brow Box - I have an eyebrow obsession and hardly ever leave the house without using this baby! Includes two brow powders, mini brush and tweezers and wax.
Benetint and Posietint - mini samples from a magazine, prefer the posietint a lot more.
Benefit High Beam - another mini sample but recently started using it under my brows and tips of my cheeks, love this!
Boots 17 Trio Eyeshadow (browns)- occasionally use for a slight shimmer on my eyelids but still natural.
Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner- been using this for nearly 5years, love it but have been using Urban Decay recently as the brush is thinner but Rimmel is less shiny.
Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Liner- Bought at Debenhams Beauty Evening with money off, I love liquid eyeliner so much and this really does stay put for 24hours!
Rimmel Soft Kohl Eyeliner- bargain quality eyeliner, been using for years.
Benefit BADgal Pencil Liner- love this, lasts for ages and has a smudge sponge on one end.
YSL Pencil Eyeliner- my favourite pencil eyeliner, soft and stays put.
Bodyshop Pencil Eyeliners in Blue and Black- freebee in a magazine, haven't actually used them.
Benefit BADgal Chunky Pencil Liner - yet another freebee, too thick to use well but is good for smokey eye look.
Benefit BADgal Mascara in full size and sample size- use this for thick and dark lashes, not too great at length or curl so need my eyelash curlers.
Clinique High Impact Mascara- a freebee but want in full size as my lashes a thick long and curly which is perfect.
YSL Volume Effects Mascara- this was bought for me as a present and is one my favourite things ever, my lashes are long, thick and curly and I often get asked 'where your false eyelashes from they look real?' and it's because they are! :D Love this so much.
Typing this up has made me realize just how many Benefit Products I own and how lucky I am to get so many freebees! As you can tell I love liners and mascaras (ooo goff) as they make up the majority of my makeup but they all offer different effects. I've also realized that my makeup bag and its contents are most likely one of the most expensive things I own as I use expensive brands (just the Laura Mercier, Urban Decay and YSL items add up to almost £100 and Benefits not cheap either!) but the cost is definitely worth it as I get great results and they all last a long time.
I have reviewed most of these items on dooyoo so check them out if you're interested (: Read the complete review |

Laser Hair Removal in General
by Melondon
A few machines work, most don't!
After having had lots of different IPL & being very disappointed, actually found one that really works! The Lightsheer diode really works. It's laser not IPL. The difference is huge.
My advice would be, do not prepay for a bulk amount of treatments. if it's not working after the ... first treatment, walk away! When it really does work, the first treatment often looks like it's half gone already. (everyone still needs 6-8 treatments but it did look like a lot had gone on the first one) Where as the 15+ treatments I had with IPL left me wondering if there was any difference at all.
A few tips..
Have the test patch, if hairs jump out of the skin, it's going to work!
Read your consent form, if it's says results may vary, forget it, that means nothing! The places that I had the Lightsheer, promised 85-95% reduction. That's easily what I got.
I saw a nurse called Maria, very honest & professional, with no hard sell!

Cosmetic Surgery in General
by caz
I had my first breast enlargement a number of years ago, this was fine until I became pregnant, when my breasts swelled. After birth when the swelling reduced I was left with a rippling (unsightly lumpy looking lines around the outline of the breasts) I therefore invested in a second breast enlargement. I was very unhappy with the ... results. Although my breasts were filled out, cancelling out the rippling effect, I was left with no cleavage whatsoever as the space between my breasts was too great. Bearing in mind that this second operation cost in excess of £5,000 due to the need to remove first set of implants. I of course arranged to discuss the results of the operation.
In short I was fobbed off and advised to buy a bra that would enhance my cleavage! Could hardly believe my ears!
I would have absolutely nothing to do with this company. They present as helpful, smiley people till you hand over your money, then you're on your own! Read the complete review |
