Vassiriki Abou Diaby was born in Paris, France on the 11th May, 1986. He began his footballing career at a local team, Red Star Paris. Aged just 13, he linked up with Paris Saint-Germain and stayed with the club for a period of just 2 years. In 2002, Diaby signed professional terms with Auxerre. Diaby signed for Arsenal Football Club on January 12th, 2006 for a fee understood to be approximately £2 million. This is after turning down a move to our local rivals Chelsea which makes me very happy.
