Hasbro Spider-Man 3 Ultimate Face-Off Figure Pack
Spidey Fights For His Life
Packaging
Blue and black box with clear plastic to front so you can see figures. Back of box has a picture of an action scene Spider-Man is hanging upside down from a bar, Sandman is in the sand and the New Goblin is hovering above them. The packaging is very appealing and eye catching.
Story-Final Face -Off Spider-Man VS Sandman & New Goblin
Spider-Man is fighting for his life! His most dangerous enemies ever-Sandman and New Goblin-have teamed up to take out the wall-crawler. As Spider-Man leaps from wall to wall, slinging webs like never before, Sandman unleashes a brutal blast of stinging sand. Overhead, New Goblin hovers on his skystick, whipping pumpkin bombs and bladed boomerang's at our hero. Spider-Man needs to think of a way to take them both out fast, or someone's likely to get hurt!
Product
Figures are made by Hasbro. Spider-Man in his blue and red spidey suit with articulated joints to elbows, hips and knees. His upper body moves from side to side and his head turns round. His hands have holes in them for web atack action, place webs in holes pull back and release for a web attack. New goblin in his all black suit with green mask articulated joints to elbows, knees and ankles. His upper body moves up and down and his head turns round. He has holes in his feet so you can place him on skystick, insert disc into skystick and press flame to launch disc. He also comes with 3 pumpkin bombs and bladed boomerang. Sandman is wearing a green and navy t-shirt and he is covered in sand, he has articulated knees hip and arm joints and he has large interchangeable attack hands. The figures are very detailed and made of plastic, they are well made and about 5 inches tall.
Play Value
This Spider-Man set encourages an imaginative mind and helps with fine motor skills. I bought this for the four year old I look after who loves Spider-Man. He act's out scenes with the figures and he likes to be Spider-Man and although he will play contentedly on his own for fairly long periods of time he likes me to join in and be Mary Jane ( a bit disappointing they haven't got a Mary Jane figure, we use a polly pocket doll instead). I have to shout "Help Help" and my little Spider-Man comes to the rescue(whilst this is great fun indoors I do get some funny looks at our local play area when I am at the top of the slide shouting "Help Help" with my little Spider-Man climbing after me shouting " on my way Mary Jane"). He loves to set up different scenes with the figures and likes hanging Spider-Man from chairs, tables or an upside down toy box. He likes to place Harry (New Goblin) on his sky stick and fly him round. Sandman is always the baddy.
Although it's a great set with lots of play value some of the actions are quite hard to do. Web attack is ok but the New Goblin sky stick launch is hard and he needs help with this. I also have to put Harry on the sky stick as it is a bit fiddly but he does fit on. He gets very frustrated that Harry won't hold the pumpkin bombs, I have tried and he won't hold them (it shows a picture of Harry holding one on box) he does however hold the boomerang. Sandman's hands are hard to take off and put back on.
Age
4+ I would not recommend this for younger children because of small parts and some of the actions are very intricate.
Price
£19.99 I bought his set from Argos but it is available from most toy shops. For mor information visit www.hasbro.com/spiderman.
Overall
Great set for little Spider-Man fans. keeps my little Spider-Man happy for hours (well maybe 30 mins at a time) and I would buy more Hasbro Spider-Man sets.
Thank's for reading may also be posted on other review sites.

- 22/03/08 I have only ever bought one action figure as I don't like the usually cheap quality and articulated joints. I much prefer real display figures not meant for playing. |
