Advantages: He can still do the basics

Disadvantages: Not what he was, interesting hairstyle

There is no doubt that Tony Adams is still one of England’s top defenders, although this says more about the lack of defensive ability out there. Adams used to be really top notch and he still has most of those characteristics. He has that heading ability and a football brain but he’s missing that essential unity with his back four. He’s got a good partnership with Keown but hasn’t made it with Silvinho etc.

He’s also lost his pace and simply can’t keep up with top players, however more often than not he’ll get his tackle in he has begun to make tell tale mistake. I can’t believe Keegan wants him for captain, indeed I’m not sure he should be in the England squad. He’s had a great career, he a good player but getting past the international scene. Keegan and Wenger must replace him soon. Oh yeh GET YOUR HAIRCUT.
