What a great person, and What a great leader, Tony Adams has been, he has had his problem but has come through them, he is now captain of England, and is fully fit and vital for both club and country. He is an excellent talent who has served Arsenal so well. He has been solid in the heart of Arsenal defence now for so many years.

He has won honours with Arsenal notably the double and now has been given the best honour of them all, to captain his country. When fit Adams is simply the best, people often criticise him and say he is slow but I think he is just as good, his brain is not slow, he still makes challenges that no one expects him to win. I hope he leads his country like he leads Arsenal, I’ve always thought that he should have been the captain when Alan Shearer was the captain, as I think it is difficult to be a captain when you are leading the attack.

As we now look forward to the World Cup qualifier’s, we should be happy that Adam’s is captaining the side, and we should hope he stays injury free, because a fit Tony Adams is vital to both Arsenal and England. In years to come or even decades to come the Arsenal back line will be remembered, and their will be Tony Adams raising his hand, claiming offside. In my view an excellent player, with good years of football ahead of him.
