"Super" Dele Adebola (also known more commonly as Big Dele) was born in Largos, Nigeria. He stands at the massive height of 6'3" and his job at Birminham is basically to terrorise and irritate defenders. If you have a small (say 5'3") man running at you quickly then thats worrying, but a 6'3" man and you've got BIG problems (excuse the pun, ahem!). Dele was signed from Crewe Alexandra in the summer of 1998 for 1,000,000 and has (in my opinion) been worth every penny of that sum. When things arent going well, Big Dele can just find something else and of course be very usfull in the air. If Trevor Francis (The Birmingham City FC Manager) doesnt see things going well on the pitch, he can sub Dele on and this can.. sorry, WILL totally change the run of the Game! In his first season at the club he scored a total of 6 goals and last season he got 13. He is currently out with an injury however he will be back terrorising defenders (as he does) by christmas. Unfortunitley he is very left footed and anything on his right side isnt too usefull. If he can manage to get his right side sorted, something that I know Trevor Francis is keen to try on Dele's rehabilitation scheme to bring him back to fitness. Dele is a joy to watch and this is why I have chosen to do an op on him. Dele was placed on the transfer list last year whilst he wasnt preforming well however if an offer came in now, Trevor Francis would do whatever possible to keep him. To alot of the younger Birmingham City players, Dele is quite frankly someone to look up to, mentally AND PHYSICALLY! FACTFILE (ignore below, its the wrong questions!) An imposing figure who has emerged as one of the most awkward front men any defender will face in the First Division. At 6'3, he gives Trevor Francis the option of attacking sides via the aerial route.
Signed from Crewe in 1998.
