Since starting the new job he has not found it as enjoyable as his previous role so has been looking elsewhere, this has been a long process I sometimes sit on the computer for hours looking for him and find nothing at all. Most jobs either seem poorly paid or not full time hours, also the amount of experience you need for many roles seems to have increased dramatically, I am presuming this is because companies no longer have large training budgets. Times are extremely tough at the moment, finding a job can be a long hard process with the standards being set higher than ever and the competition often immense. Also just looking for work is a hard process a few years ago I just used to pick up my local paper on a Wednesday and see the hundreds of job advertised from a large variety of companies. But with advances in use of the internet and the added cost of companies advertising jobs you now tend to find yourself trawling hundreds of company or job agency sites looking for jobs. As a musician I often find myself working in hospitality on a regular basis due to the nature of the business. Here is my advice for finding work in hospitality: -Write an excellent cv, outlining all your experience that is relevant to the job you want to go for and include anything to do with customer service as it all counts. -Hand in cvs in person, it means that it will get to the right person quickly, ask to see the manager of the bar/cafe and when they meet you they can see that your presented well and are friendly.
