Rich Club, Poor Club (A.F.C. Bournemouth)

Advantages: Small and friendly Disadvantages: Not a big club
Recently it was reported that Manchester United's annual turnover is in excess of 100 million pounds. AFC Bournemouth, the first community-based club in England is desperately searching for funding to enable them to build a new ground. Their Dean Court has seen 100 years of life and is now in need of rebuilding. Funding has been secured for over 3 million pounds but another 1.25 million is still required and it's down to the fans to raise. How sad it is that the likes of Mancheseter United get richer and richer whilst a club at the heart of its local community providing so much to the people of the community is finding it so hard to provide a facility that costs such a small amount compared to the might of money available to the big rich clubs. I think the smaller grass roots clubs like AFC Bournemouth deserve more of the cake. Summary: |
