Advantages: Great when it works
Disadvantages: Electric problems and lousy after sales service.
We have a four oven Aga and we love to cook on it, when it works!!
The guy working in our area le Var 83 knows nothing of electric parts. When the Aga was installed in 2005 he did not know how to wire the thing and all the cables burned underneath the top part and cut off the electricity in the house. In september 2010 the same guy came to do a service and it included changing electric parts in the bottom part. After he left I found scratches on the surface of the Aga and called him. He denied to have made them. They just came there on their own ;0) Finally Aga agreed to change the top, now on the 3rd of June it has not yet been done.
In May we had a problem again with burned cables in our kitchen and an electrician came and checked everything. We were watching him measuring on the Aga and it was obvious, that the Aga was the cause of the problem. We could not turn the Aga on, because it would cut off the electricity of the house. The guy working in this area is not capable of servicing the Aga and one time they had to send a guy from Lyon to solve the problems. Now I have waited 4 weeks and was promised that the service guy would show up today. He did not and I was told he would show up on thursday the 9th of June. After sales service can certainly do with some improvement! And please find someone who knows what service is and can do the job neatly.
Summary: I warn you against AGA
