Advantages: I get time to myself and money from the social

Disadvantages: Not enough money and can't get a job.

As I am getting a bit older or more mature in my years I find that it is more difficult to get a decent job. Before I had my family I was a sales rep selling various things like office equipment but I gave it up. After my second divorce I tried to get a job doing selling again but I didn't even get an interview from any applications. I was struggling for money and tried to get a job in many places like shops and factories but I was always turned down even before they seen me because mostly they said I had no experience. I eventually got a job for a while in McDonalds to tide me over.

I think I was turned down mostly because they see from my CV that my age was getting on a bit and they didn't want an oldie working for them. I think this is a silly attitude because people who are a bit older like me are more experienced in life in general and can bring lots to a workplace. We do not go out on the drink on a thursday night so much and have to take friday off with a hangover. Also there aren't as many workplace romances distracting us from the job so more work can be done!

In my experience I would have to say that employers do discriminate against us wrinklies but they shouldn't be allowed to! Some places are fair like B&Q and McDonalds but most others should be ashamed of themselves. I like to think that they are their own worst enemy because older people can be better than young ones in many ways and these employers don't know what they are missing out on. It is their loss.

Btw, why don't you take your email address off your profile site if you want to prevent people from writing to you? Easy, innit?

Please stop behaving in this silly way. I asked you to stay away from my ops which are clearly not to your liking. I have no problem with this, I'm not desperate for your 3p.

If you go on leaving comments like the one you've left for me, I'll be really cross. Just ignore me, PLEASE!

I understand where you're ocming form but a bit more info and evidence would have been nice as well as your own opinion. It must be really frustrating,I dont understand why people are still so ageist these days when everyone lives longer, has a better quality of life and genrally speaking are much more active an fit in their later years of life!
