Having hiccups can be very annoying. I have tried many ways over the years to try to stop them eg. asking someone to make you jump unexpectedly, drinking a glass of water from the other side of the glass etc. none of these seem to have worked.......until...... a few of years ago I was watching daytime telly, and a lady rang with a tip on getting rid of hiccups..........and WOW it really works. I'm not sure if it is a traditional chinese way of curing them, but you rip off a small bit of toilet/kitchen roll (about the size of a 2 pence coin) make it moist, and place it on the centre of the forehead. By the time the toilet roll dry's, your hiccups are ... Read the complete review

This opinion is one of the hardest one’s I have written so far, the reason im writing it is because a few people have asked me why I have a knife phobia and the only way to explain it is to write this opinion/review. When I was a lot younger than I am now, around the age of 9, every Friday night my Nan (mum’s mum) would come and collect my cousin Julie and I from school every week without fail. She would then take us back to her granny flat as we called it. Her granny flat was on a complex with 30 other old people. They had a warden who lived on the site to ensure their safety and be on call should they need help and assistance. The complex ... Read the complete review

I think more and more people are turning to alternative medicine and treatments. I personally prefer to use alternative treatments, unless I break a bone or have to have an operation or something like that. I don't like to take prescrition medicine, the thought of getting addicted to tablets frightens me and the side effects can often be worse than the original symptoms, but I do realise that prescription medicine and treatment from the doctor and hospitals is benefical for certain needs, so I'm not knocking it. I myself have just been suffering with back pains and had to go to the doctors for pain killers as it was the only thing to numb the pain. ... Read the complete review

Magnet therapy has been around for thousands of years, its not new at all. It isnt even really an alternative therapy even though that is how it is regarded now. The chinese swear by it, Folk have flocked to famous places where the magnetic properties of local spring water is healing and Cleopatra was known to bathe in liquid that was magnetised by pooring over Lodestones - Heamatite. Astronauts have been using it for years as they where very ill after the first space mission through gravity changes plus lack of Magnetic field, they now incorperate magnets in the space suits to remedy sickness. I have been amused while watching shopping channels that seem to be very ... Read the complete review

Having suffered from constant, chronic pain for over 14yrs now I am, and have always been, ready to take any help on offer. I do find that the names given to different forms of help somewhat misleading though. >> New bit<< I should have added that I have tried some alternative methods/medication. I am open to most kind of offer that claim to help ease my pain, I am not fortunate enough to be fussy. St Johns Wart.. a plant that is said to help with depression... it was yuck to take and, for me, had limited, at best, effect on my depression but I know folk for whom it is a wonder. Cannabis.. We all know how this is said ... Read the complete review
