A Fair Chance Taken Away (Anarchy in the UK)
Member Name: khrys
Advantages: anarchists given a chance, capitalism is brought to one day realisation, being given a chance Disadvantages: not real anarchists, looting by thugs, police mistrust
Mayday Demonstrations were meant to be a peaceful protests by the true anarchists of Britain. A chance for them to explain what they felt. Had the protest been attended by only *true* anarchists (and by true I mean people who fully understand the idea of anarchism and the correlation between it and anarchy. People who believe in it as a way to run the world, not a group of looters spoiling for a fight), the day would have been a success. But you always get what I call the 'wannabe factor'. In music it is pop groups or people who claim they like rock music because they saw Limp Bizkit on top of the pops. In anarchy, the wannabe factor is maintained by thugs. The term 'anarchy', in the English Dictionary, up until 1925, meant: "A perfect state which needs no ruler". And up until then it was. But nowadays the idea of anarchy is riots, fights, looting, destroying capitalist emporiums (McDonalds, Starbucks etc), and killing policemen. Technically, these people are following the very basis of anarchy that is, "remove from society those who are greedy and rich, and make everything equal". Apparently there were also police snipers on the roofs of buildings armed with rubber bullet guns, and they would target suspicious looking people on sight. This is partially because the police understand that there will be riots, and partially because they are standing up against people who want a say. I know some proper hard core anarchists, and they really believe in the spirit of anarchy, not the spirit of rioting. I can understand why the government felt threatened by thugs, but they shouldnt feel threatened by anarchists. Proper anarchists disagree with looting and rioting. This is a fact you must all remember. Thugs, also known as "football hooligans" will claim they are a Summary: |
