Are Ghosts Real?
Now, I don't know whether you will believe me with what I am about to say, but I thought I would share my thoughts on the subject of ghosts with you.
The first experience that I can talk of is of when I was really very, very young. My grandfather, my dads father, passed away before I was born. I can remember being in my grandmothers house and being in the living room. A gentleman in a trilby hat and glasses peered over the top of the pram, of where I was sat, and and smiled. He then went away. I had never seen a photograph of my grandfather until a good few years later, not until I was about 10 years old, and my grandmother moved out of the house soon after this incident. I spoke to my mother about this experience a good few years later, I think I was about 15-16. I described the room I was in and the gentleman I had seen. She was surprised that I had described my grandfather, but she was even more surprised that I had described the living room to the exact details of how it was laid out! I think that scared her more than anything!
After that experience nothing really happened, until I moved house with my parents to the house that my mother lives at now. The house was built in 1952 and my mothers father helped to build the houses! What a coincidence! Anyway, we moved into the house and we started to experience strange things about a week after moving in. We could hear noises from the bedroom above the dining room. It was like large pieces of furniture were being dragged across the bedroom, but when we checked it out nothing had been moved.
Not long after the noises in the bedroom the front door of the house would open, with no-one there. You would be standing in the kitchen, which joined onto the hallway, and you would see the door open! My mum got that fed up with this that she decided that she did have a ghost and she was going to call him William. Whenever the door would open, she would shout "Stop that William. That's enough!". I am so glad that no-one outside the family heard her, apart from William!
My parents decided to go away for the weekend, and so I was left in the house on my own. I invited a friend round for a night. Quite late at night we were stood in the kitchen and the kettle switched on and started to boil! Now, I had never told my friend about what had been happening in the house, but sure enough, after that, she ordered a taxi home!
I went away for a weekend with some friends and when I got home my dad had to explain what had happened one night. My parents were asleep when they heard a loud crash. They went into my bedroom to check and found that the wooden shelf above the hi-fi and come off the wall, but had not just fell off the wall, it was at the other end of the room! No damage to the hi-fi!
I always found it difficult to sleep in my bedroom, as i felt a presence there. When i left home, my mother and father moved into my old bedroom. One night, as my mother was dozing off, she felt someone stroke her hair. She thought it was my dad, but then she heard him snoring! She told me she put her head under the covers until she fell asleep!
After that other things would happen i.e. the shower would turn on, you could hear footsteps on the stairs and items of cutlery would disappear.
In 2007 my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He started to become really ill in the summer of last year. He started to tell my mother that he could see a woman in white in the corner of the bedroom and she was sorting the clothes out for ironing. My mother automatically thought it was the drugs that dad was on and told him that the woman was more than welcome to sort the ironing out! A few days after this, my brother, dad and myself were downstairs while mum was doing the ironing upstairs. Mum started to shout downstairs to us to ask us why my brother had walked past her and not answered her question. Our reply was that no-one had been upstairs, and she was adamant that my brother had because she had seen him go past her into the bathroom. He did have a white top on! Maybe the lady wanted to take over the ironing from mum!
Unfortunately, my father passed away at Christmas last year, but I still think he is here. Me and my partner bought him his dream car a few years ago, a Volvo estate! The car was his pride and joy. Only a few weeks ago my other half, who is not a believer in anything I have just written, found in the middle of our living room carpet a small Volvo badge! I told him that was a sign that my dad thinks that the car needs a wash, as we have the car now!! I still don't know where the badge came from and neither does my partner.
I know that I believe what I have witnessed in my life and always know that my dad will be with me all the time, even though he is no longer on this earth, along with both sets of my grandparents.
Summary: Ghosts and mischief!
