Advantages: have loads of kids and don't work you will be quids in

Disadvantages: seemingly none!

I have two young children and would love another but don't think that will happen. Why not? I'm fit and healthy and I've only just gone 33, I'm not overweight and don't smoke and drink moderatly. So why not?Because we can't afford to have another that's why. But what about tax credits, working tax credits and child benefit I hear you cry! Well because I'm married, and my husband actually works for a living and we own our home -we are penalised because of it. I always worked full time and paid my fair share of tax and national insurance onto the system when I worked which was for 11 years, we can't claim benefits like some people can.I'm not saying I think I should be handed benefits because I have children but it seems if you work, or marry or own your own property you get nothing-pay nothing into the state and have loads of children and you get everything handed to you, it's a very unfair system. I'm sorry if I sound bitter here but it really grates me when there are people out there having children for money practically. For instance, no names mentioned but the ex partner of a male friend of mine is now pregnant to her latest partner. Nothing unusual there but this her 7th child, and mostly to different fathers. She must love being a mum you would think but no, this woman has children just for the benefits. Her 2 oldest are 17 and 18 and no longer live at home so now she isn't getting as much money per week she needs to have more children to claim back what she is missing. All very well and good if it went on the kids but it goes on cigarettes, alcohol, recreational drugs, take aways etc. The children are unwashed and wear old scruffy clothes whilst she is immaculately dressed in designer gear. Yes I may sound bitter but I don't care because at the end of the day I really do love being a mum and would give anything to have another, but because we are not living in the benefit state we just can't afford to!

Summary: benefit system a sham

I completely agree!!! Same with us, we're married (no kids as of yet), my husband is a very hard worker in a full time job, I was in full time education trying to better myself so in and out of aprt time work for the last few years, but now I'm looking for a proper job with no avail as of yet, but I cannot get a penny of Job Seekers allowance because our "£1200 is seen as been a high income despiote our outoings been £200 more than our incomings every month!!! My husband can't do extra shifts he already works 60 hours a week, and despite ap-lying for 200 jobs, I still have nothing, we cannot get a pennt from the state!!!

Sadly your right and it seesm absurd that a family from romania can come here to do just that.
