To me, a holiday is the pinnacle of the year, the high point to look forward to all those cold, winter days, something to aim for when you feel nothing is going right...
Because of this, a lot of planning goes into every holiday I book. I start by collecting brochures on every place I could ever want to go, take suggestions from whoevers going on where they may or may not like to visit, and visit numerous travel agents finding bargain deals for the designated area. The same amount of thought goes into a weeks self catering in Spain as does a fortnight all inclusive to Morocco. I view my holiday as the reason I am working all year, so I like to know what to do there, if i'm going to be relaxing or sightseeing, how much to take, and what everyone else has thought of the resort.
This year, we are doing the ultimate family trip...Orlando, Florida. We have Disney tickets booked, we have been scouting the best ways to get around without a car (apparantly the i-shuttle?), we are canvassing all our friends to find out how many clothes to take, and the best malls to buy the rest from when we get there!
Florida is somewhere I myself wanted to visit as a child, so i'm very excited to be able to do this for my little girl. I think Disney is the ultimate dream for most children, and shes already barely able to contain herself with excitement!
Next year, we will be resorting to a very much smaller holiday, but this year we wanted something special...and I think we're going to get it in Florida.
