Joy to the World (Are you an impulsive shopper or a conscientious buyer?)
Member Name: Yosemite
Advantages: Peace, Goodwill & Joy Disadvantages: not enough people realise the true meaning
I love Christmas and I am a bit of both....an impulsive shopper and a conscientious buyer. I consider Christmas to be the one and only time of the year when it is really 100% going all out to have fun, enjoy yourself, give and receive, joy, peace and goodwill to all the world. I think life is full of knocks, misery and bad times and from one day to the next we do not know what the future holds, however, Christmas is the one time in which we can be sure that if we carefully plan, work things out, and do a little extra to earn that little bit extra (like all those extra dooyoo reviews, folks!) we can certainly have lots of fun and enjoyment. I love the gentle falling of white snow, the sight of your breath in the air, walks in the crisp afternoons getting darker, and feeling the glow and seeing how many christmas trees you can count in the houses, admiring the wonderful decorations and lights and saying hello to passers-by...a general feeling of goodness, happiness and sharing. I try to always give that little bit extra at this time of year so that others can benefit too, so I donate a little more to charity, even just sending my used stamps to my favourite charity Bransby Home of Rest for Horses...I try to send a shoebox to Blythswood with pressies in it for poor children who have never had a visit from Santa, and I try to choose cheap and cheerful but absolutely appropriate pressies for friends. I do not have much money, we are on a really tight budget, and we had ice on the inside of our windows this Christmas because we could not afford to put the central heating on, however, we felt good, had lovely things to eat, and wore extra clothes and went for walks, played wonderful board games and had a wonderful cut-price Christmas tree from Homebase for less than £10 in their sale. Christmas is not commercial, its a time for all good things to happen to everyone and we should never really forget that, no matter what our situation. Summary: Happiness should always be shared |
