Advantages: None been had to many times.

Disadvantages: site full of con artists and fake china knock offs

Well what can you say about ebay, People totally rave about it as did i for many years. I have been a member for a little over six years when the site was fairly new. and at first i loved it, you could bag yourself a bargin anytime of the day or night.

I would sit up untill all hours just browsing for a last minute bargin, in the early day you would get them, and to be totally honest you can still get them if they arrive after payment.

I have had some really good bits from designer boots, jeans, kitchen carcases, bedding, make up you name it i have had a go. i have even brought a car.

BUT i am now less than impressed, over the years i notice that you no longer get the bargins you got in the early years, and if you do you are paying very excessive postage costs, most sellers say thay are over priced as they have to take it to the post office, well really how much does it cost to trot down to the post office, the postage costa and shipping times did get better when they brought in the rating scheme (which i thought was a good idea) for all the honest ebayers out there, but all it took was someone to bat back at the feedback you leave and your account is tainted, and ebay dont seem to give one hoot all they want it there money. because lets face it you can never ever get hold of anyone at ebay there is no TELEPHONE number anywhere on the site. so you have to go through ebay itself and you always get a reply but they are the genirated emails that dont help one little bit.

What really get me now days is all the CON ARTISTS on there, i am no saying all ebayers are con artists but there is a very high percentage now. i have been conned at leat six times now.

1st time i bought a nintendo wii and paid through paypal which they say is totally secure and you are fully covered, well they lie the guy never sent the wii and ignored all emails, when i contacted paypal they said he had shut his account. so i didnt get my money back, i had do do a charge back on my card and only got half back

2nd time i lost out when i bought a laptop, yes it only cost 160.00 but the same happend there, paypal refused to give money back and i had my account set so the payment would come straight out of my bank. so they would not cover me either. REMEMBER ALWAY USE A CARD WHEN PAYING IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO BE SAFE. because paypal also avoid paying out. again i contacted ebay and got a genarated email.

3rd time i bought a gucci necklace when i was told was genuine, this cost me 135.50 inc postage, which was a steal. But when it arrived it was a CHEAP CHINA KNOCK OFF that i could have brought for 2 pounds. i contacted seller and they would not accept a return. so lost there as well.

these are just some of the BAD things that have happend, these are the ones that come to mind first as they were all expensive, i have been stung many other times too. but i has taken me a while to learn from it. i will never buy again. either from ebay and i will never used paypal again.

Lets face it they are both there to rob you blind, they are both happy when you are completing transaction so they get the wedge, but when a problem occurs there is NO ONE TO HELP or even any one that cares.

ebay tell you that the sellers will be warned WOW. i have since learned that they allow four warning before they shut an account, so this tells me that they are will to let the robbers rob at least four people before they kick them off. and who is to say these con artists cant open another account with diffrerent details.

I THINK the whole site is a joke now, it is full of either con artists, fake knocked off goods. if you type in gucci or tiffany and co all you get back is FAKES. and sometimes these can be hard to spot, as people don't always use their own pictures, so you do have to trust the sellers completely. but there is nothing stopping them from lying and then laughing all the way to the bank with your money.

I have been conned one time to often now and i will never use the site again.

I dont mean to offend any HONEST ebayers, because i know they are still in there somewhere. but i am sorry all the con artists are giving you a bad name.

IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH EBAY PLEASE LET ME KNOW, JUST OUT OF INTEREST I WANT TO SEE IF THEY DO THIS TO EVERYONE.

Summary: This was a great place to shop i the early years, now all ebay want is money.
