If you buy a second hand car from a dealer, there's a very high chance that he bought it at auction. So why not cut out the middle man and his mark up. All the dealer is likely to do is camouflage any defects, possibly reduce the apparent mileage and put the price up. Don't waste your time with back street car auctions - go for the big boys like BCA and NCA. Buying a used car is always a bit of an ordeal, whichever way you do it. Finding ads in newspapers, ringing people and going to see cars one at the time canbe time consuming. Visiting car dealers and trying to figure out what of their claims is true and then paying probably a bit more, can be frustrating. Another way is buying at and auction. At auctions you are likely to find the biggest numbr of vehicles in one place, thus increasing the chance of finding one that you like. Ive been useing my local car auctions for several years,and would like to share my knowledge with you.Firstly dont buy on your first visit,take a look around you see what everyone else is doing.Dont panic buy,if a car you fancy goes above what you,ve decided its worth,dont bid any higher.Take a mechanic with you if you can,if not be very wary of the car that everyone crowds around,these people are in the know and could be spouting wrong info.You can pick up a bargain at auction,but also you can buy a pile of junk thats been dressed up for the occasion,but will soon lose its gladrags. ...
