Advantages: biased information

Disadvantages: biased information

I dont know where to start, this is a pretty big subject. The BBC is a huge establishment. It covers television, radio, internet. It is quite impossible to do a review on all of it. So, i will have to content myself to focus on a certain area within this vaste subject. I will focus on what I call the BBC fanatics, such as the person who wrote a review prior to myself. People who are utterly convinced of the unassailability of the BBC, and of our terribly good fortune to have such a noble enterprise serving us and providing our minds with enlightened information.
There are few things which I find more annoying than when people claim the BBC to be beyond the bias of our trans-atlantic neighbours. They compare our level-headed and modest newsreaders to the ostentatious and sensationalist counterparts in the USA and sigh with relief that we are not subject to the constantr barrage of one sided reporting which the Americans are victim to. Certainly, the BBC has a much more cunning approach, they clothe the mouthpices of the power-elite in the familiar guises of pour most trusted B-list celebrities, who relate the daily news with the decorum of an impartial observer. But do not be fooled by these wolves in sheeps clothing, the lies which they tell us on a daily basis are very real, and even the more powerful in thier subletly. I speak mainly of the promotion of the ideals of the power-elite (by this i mean the government, the corporations). Thier devisive television shows, thier unquetioning promotion of the government's policies on issues such as the Iraq war and the Environment crisis which is facing our planet. Have u ever noticed the inherent racism in the BBC? How they will place endless emphasis on the death of a handful of British soliers, but totally ignore the deaths of Iraqi civilians? How the recent figues of 655,000 deaths as a result of the invasion were put in to serious doubt, although they are irrefutable. The racism inherent in this kind fo reporting, where the life of a white british person is so much more highly prized than the life of an Iraqi, is outstanding.
So there is my comment on the BBC. It is aimed at those people who are unquestioning about the BBC , as the BBC is unquestioning about the forces which motivate it.

I think that most deserning viewers will see that the BBC has a bit of a liberal bias. However, has to better than the right wing rants from ITV!

Pretty much agree which is why I've stopped watching TV News. The BBC is as bad as CNN.

Not sure how you can say the figures of iraqi deaths are irrefutable, unless you have actually counted them yourself? Strangely though national news will always concentrate on things that matter to their own people and sad as it is to say a few british deaths will always count more than any others :o(
