Why is it that badminton is so much more fun than tennis?

It is such a light-hearted game, maybe because the racquet and shuttlecocks aren't as heavy as tennis rackets and balls.

Most people can pick up badminton without having to learn difficult strokes and positions. It's a lively game and keeps you on your toes without it being too serious. The rules are easy to follow and whatever your age, it needn't be too strenuous if that's what you want.

Another advantage is that you don't develop big muscles in your arms from wielding a heavy racquet. You can play in mixed teams of all ages without being handicapped.

It's played indoors so there is no worry about rain stopping play, and you don't need any fancy clothing. It's a cheap sport and can be a great stress reliever.
