AFC Barnsley were formed in May 2003 after serious reservations began to surface regarding the future of Barnsley FC and whether they would actually survive to see the following season. Some disillusioned fans decided to protect the interests of Barnsley fans by making sure someone would continue to care about what the fans actually said and so ... Read the complete review

Barnsley are a side which i dont actually support but a side i show a lot of interest in. They have a number of very interesting characters in their ranks and i back them to make the Premier League this season through the play offs especially if they can make the defence a bit more watertight! Theyve got big 'Arry' Bassett in charge and if ... Read the complete review

Barnsley are not the sort of side that you'd associate with Premiership playing potential and yet they were only recently in the top flight, but have since been relegated a few years back and now will try and get back up the table for the playoffs. It's been a long, hard, tiring season for the avid Barnsley supporter - they ... Read the complete review

What the hell has Bassett bought or in this case loaned another left back for? He has got too many in the first place and then goes out and spends more wasteful money on another. I mean, he's got Barnard, Corbo, Brown, Barker, Austin, Woan and now he getting yet another; Janni Salli. He obviously looks good from playing for Finland the other ... Read the complete review

The options for Barnsley are to react in one of two ways. They can follow the lead of the previous season's losing play-off finalists Bolton and have a transitional campaign, ending in further play-off agony. Or they can follow the 1998 losing side's lead. That side was Sunderland, who garnered a record number of points in the next season. ... Read the complete review

Barnsley has not got over their sale of Craig Higgnet to Blackburn rovers, which took place at the start of this season. Higgnet was their leading goal scorer last season, and have to look in their squad for someone to take over. Barnsley is in 15th place in the league and with the players at Oakwell they should be pushing for a play off place at ... Read the complete review

barnsley did great last season but I think they've lost their way a bit. With very little signings and selling their best player to Blackburn is just signs of either an un ambitious club, or one with financial worries. i think it's the latter, because Barnsley will be in the top 6 at the end of the season, but I doubt if they'll do as ... This year I am almost certain that Barnsley will finish in the top six places. There start this year has been a little inconsistant. They have won the games that they were expected to win and they have not really shone against the tougher oposition. They have got one of the best manages in England in my opinion but their squad lacks quality. They ... Read the complete review

I, cannot help but feel the departure of Craig Hignett is something which Barnsley will find very difficult to get over. He is injured at the moment at Blackburn Rovers, but I can't see why they would sell him. He was their best player. He could score goals, just look at the goal in the play-off final. He was also aware of his defensive ... Read the complete review

It will be difficult for Barnsley this season, especially with the sale of Craig Hignett, thier best player. They had an excellent chance in the play-off final, especially when they took the lead, but i can see it being very tough for dave basset's side, especially with so many quality teams in division one. All, they can hope for is play-off ... Read the complete review

If you feel low, maybe life is dragging you down, go and have your spirits lifted at Oakwell. Barnsley fans are like no other. I will never forget the day in 1997 when Barnsley were 6-0 down at home against Chelsea, and no-one left their seat, and no-one closed their mouths. All the fans were still encouraging the team they love and ... Read the complete review

Barnsley will be hoping for another surge in form in the forthcoming season, in an attempt to regain their shortlived premiership status from a couple of seasons ago. The Yorkshire club are more than capable of being a force to be reckoned with in Division 1 next season, and will no doubt be challenging for the play-offs at the very ... Read the complete review

This is a club which is going some where the premier next season, then Europe and along with the fa cup. We have a great stadium. The players are nearly all premership class and now Eaden as gone we have a team full of altherletes. We can score goals and this season we will do the double over the sheffield teams. Just four years ago people would have laughed if you said that by the year 2000 Barnsley would have had a season in the Premier League, only narrowly missing on survival and then a Wembley Play-Off final appearance but that is the reality. Average gates at Barnsley were around 8,000 just five years ago, now for many matches it is consistently ... Read the complete review
