I have to admit that watching Gareth barry play for Aston Villa at the beginning of the season i was not too impressed with what i saw. But since then i feel he has improved an awful lot in such a short space of time and he has deserved his place in the England team. In his first few internationals i do not think that he had the confidence in his own ability because of his movement and general work rate. Gareth Barry should definitely be put in the england team as he is far better than Phil neville. He is young and very confident and shows he is more than capable with dealing with some of the best players in the world. Phil neville with his brother gary need to be replaced and Gareth Barry is the man for it. At Aston Villa he is a regular first team player and they are doing superbly at the moment! I also feel other oldies should start to go. Maybe Seamen (bring on Tim Flowers!), Adams (2 years left though), Ince, and Owen! (joke). This is because we have some promising young players who showed a lot of talent against their recent game winning 6-1. BRING ON ...

Gareth Barry was the first to admit on Saturday that he thought that he would have not played in the European championship if he did not have a left foot. I think he was probably right, but I also think that he is an excellent player for the future, and what he can do, believe it or not is cross the ball in on his left foot. I think that Barry should be proud the way he handled himself against the World Champions. Do we all remember when Alan Shearer and Rob Jones made their debuts for England against France, what good players they became.
