Newest Review: ... is to score more runs than your opponants. You score runs by touching all 3 bases and home plate. You don't have to do it all in one go, but if you do, this is known as a home run. One team hits and the other team fields. The team out in the field is made up of 9 players. 6 play in the infield and 3 play in the outfield. When each team has had a go at both hitting and fielding, this is known ... more

Baseball is played in over 120 countries around the world. Many of which you can earn a professional salary in. As an example, you could play professional baseball in Italy, Sweden, Germany and in the Netherlands. Although many take offense to the use of the "World Series" title. This "World" tag was used to generate publicity in what was originally a small competition. The name stuck and continues to be used today. There is now a more representative and accurately titled "World Baseball Classic" where nations from all over the globe participate. The next such competition will be in 2009. Many people feel that ...  Read the complete review

When i was in the States in 95 Baseball was one of the "Americanisms"that was high on my list of things to do.There'ss no better place to see it than California, and Candlestick Park in San Francisco is a hell of place to see it. It converts to Gridiron to ,as the massive stands are on wheels that can be moved around to cater for bigger playing services. With an 80,000 capacity its quite a spectacle to see when its full up. The actual game itself is rather dull to watch as it can last four hours or more with the guys hardly ever hitting the ball.Tactics dictate that the better batters known as designated hitters can be ""fouled out"by ...  Read the complete review

It amazes me that Baseball is not given more media exposure in the United Kingdom. If like me you reguarly watch Channel 5's coverage of live matches during the Baseball season then you already know of the 4 hours of constant action and drama it provides. Some people dismiss it as silly boys rounders but these people have obviously never sat through an entire match. The commentaters play a big part in this and after a couple of games you can easily come to terms with the termniology that may confuse the common onlooker. Although the New York Yankees are the dominant force right now, this can never last due to the set up of the MLB system were the worst teams get ...  Read the complete review

While on holiday in Boston this August I finaly managed to get tickets to see the Red Sox on the last day that they were playing while we were there. Getting hold of the tickets was a game in itself. Every day for nearly two weeks I went to Fenway Park or called for tickets without any luck until day 10. The night of the game came around Red Sox at home to the Anaheim Angels, it was all supposed to start at 7pm but 5 minutes before kick off it began to pour with rain. Eventually 3 hours and 5 minutes late the game began. Was it worth it? You bet! The Sox won 3-1. The atmosphere was amazing and the thing that stood out the most was the fact that ...  Read the complete review
