Advantages: crossing, free kicks, work rate.

Disadvantages: sarongs

What can you say? Simply put, he is one of the greatest players of the modern era. Ever since he was a youngster on training schemes it was known that he was a special talent. Beckham has it all: dead ball specialist, incredibly accurate passing, the best crosser of the ball in the world, an ever growing sense of leadership, and a work rate second to none.
Every match you can expect to see him be involved in most attacks, and also often racing back to do his share of defensive duties as well. When you see him with the ball on the right flank, you can expect a pinpoint cross right onto the head of the attacker in the box.
As a Man Utd fan and being from Northern Ireland, I fully appreciate the playing genius that was George best, but his recent comments about Beckham were inaccurate. Anyone who, like me, has watched their fair share of recent united games will know that Beckham often uses his left foot with reasonable skill for a right-footer and can head the ball just as well as any other winger, not that he ever needs to.
Another thing I don’t get is why so many people say Beckham doesn’t score enough goals. Already this season, he has got 6 and anyway, since when was the right winger in a team supposed to be a prolific goalscorer?
But the thing that annoys me most about the ‘anti-Beckham’ section of society, is the abuse he receives about himself and his family. It is pure jealousy which makes these football ‘fans’ shout disgusting things about his wife and son.
Beckham is beginning to silence the boos at away grounds, and maybe someday, the boos will have turned into cheers. Well, maybe not.
I'm glad Beckham has been given the England captaincy, it will probably make him more sensible and responsable and some people will hopefully get off his back.

Great player on the right, not quite so effective so far in the centre. He's not a prat, smeer, just a normal bloke - who has to take unjustified insults and abuse.
