Advantages: Reasonable price

Disadvantages: Broke down after 10 months. Very poor after sales service

Bought a Beko fridge/freezer on 17th Jan 07 from Currys. Last weekend it give up the ghost. It just went off, after making a loud gurgling noise. As it was in warranty, thought all I had to do was ring Curry's Support and that would be an engineer on his way. Sadly not the case. Beko's engineers didn't seem to take calls on Sundays. First thing Monday morning I rang for an engineer, but the first visit they could offer was Thursday. On Wednesday afternoon I rang to find out what time they were coming, but as the 'part?' hadn't arrived at our house beforehand, the engineer's visit was cancelled. I rang Curry's support, who made some calls and rang back to say the part was being couriered out on Friday. My poor dad sat waiting all day - no part arrived. When I got in from work I rang Beko, and for the first time I spoke to a lady who seemed to care. She advised the part hadnt been couriered but had been posted the day before. In the midst of a postal strike???? Today the part (hope it was the right one) still hadnt arrived. I rang Beko (again) to advise and finally got somewhere. They were offered a replacement appliance. Maybe our fridge/freezer didnt last long, but Beko's Aftersales Service was appalling. I made many many telephone calls before managing to get someone to actually listen to me properly. Telephone waiting time for Service at Beko was 15-20 minutes. Even Curry's were most unhelpful. Each passing the buck back and forward. My advise would be to THINK CAREFULLY BEFORE BUYING BEKO.

Summary: Think carefully before buying Beko
