I saw this category and knew I just had to vent my spleen! I hate many T.V ads but there are a few which stand out from the rest as particularly cringe worthy and make me vow never ever to buy what ever it is that they are promoting!

The most annoying is those e sure insurance ads. I dislike most insurance companies with a vengeance but this ad is the pits! At present they show hospital patients waving and saying hello to their mums whilst a doctor drones on about the benefits of e sure for careful drivers. This advert is patronising and insulting. I really can’t see how this ad promotes their business or even makes much sense!

Another awful ad is the recent one for shreddies from the hated nestle company. This one is particularly bad as it features a teacher, Ms Kelly who is reported to note an improvement in her young pupils concentration when they are given shreddies to eat for breakfast! Has she not read the ingredients panel?! Like most refined cereals shreddies are full of sugar and salt! A bowl of porridge would be much better at half the price! I think our Ms Kelly should look into Nestles record of how it conducts its business too! Who is this actress? I think she needs a bit of educating!

I hate all those ads for loans too. You know the ones I mean; they show a happy contented family, now debt free and with cash to spare since re organising their finances. The adverts tell you that you could consolidate all your debts and have just one easy monthy payment they then give you some example figures. What it doesn’t say is that you will end up paying hundreds of pounds more, as the loan will be over a much longer period! Don’t be fooled by these people! Carole volderman has a lot to answer for I wonder how much she was paid for this!

Another advert with that Yuk factor has to be the latest weight watchers one. This is the one that shows several generations of smily people at a party all eating and drinking happily. They all look like the all American family with ultra white smiles and model figures. The blurb tells you that you can enjoy life to the full with weight watchers. It doesn’t say all these false looking people were members of this club but that is the implication! Give us your dosh and you too could have the perfect life!

I’m sure I could go on all night but these are just some that I think should be banned to spare us all! There are also some really witty and well thought out ads such as many for cars, but that’s another review!

Of course, the advertisers have done their job because you've taken notice AND remembered their ad, even if it annoyed you! :o)
