Age in just a number and let's face it getting a year older is far better than the alternative.

I have recently lost both my parents and that certainly, for me, and I know from talking to others for them, has an impact on how old you feel. There is something about not being someone's child any more that makes you suddenly aware as to how old you are. Maybe it is because you know that if life follows the normal pattern you are next! I don't want this to sound negative, it isn't. It focuses your mind on living, on making better choices in your life.

At the time of writing I have someone to get a present for next month. I haven't decided what to get yet- there are so many things I know the recipient would enjoy- but I know I want to get something they would consider a real treat. I shall certainly take my time to select something special, because it would be true to say the birthday girl concerned has recently become one of the most important people in my life.

I shall gift wrap the prezzie and attach a small gift tag on which I will write- "Enjoy yourself on your birthday and everyday- with Love to ME from ME XXXXXXXXXXX
